Chris Jent? And Hasheem looked pretty good, they talked about him having lost his confidence - hmmmm who was it that said that?????? LOL.... Anyway, he looked good on thost PnRs....and was 3 for 3 from the field with 2 hammers. DD
come on dude, you know that was extreme garbage time, up by 20 points with 3 minutes in the game! Patruska would have gone for a triple double given that situation!
This was exactly the kind of game time they needed for Thabeet. No pressure, up by 20-25 with about 4 minutes left, we have excellent point guards to find him in the paint. Hopefully, this will do something for Thabeet's confidence. God knows, he needs all he can scrape up. But the last thing anyone here should do is overreact to this. It was garbage time. After 10 games, we'll see what McHell thinks of him.
Garbage time doesn't count but at least I liked his demeanor out there. After seeing that Hill does not appear to have made any progress as a big who can positively affect team defense -I've always said he's not a center and maintain that he's close to becoming a very good man to man defender- I see that our best case scenario has Thabeet being able to earn a spot in the rotation backing up Dalembert. I now hope that happens, and with Patterson coming back soon that would mean no spot in the rotation for Jordan Hill, who I consider a decent back-up PF at this point.
Thabeet Played really well I like how he was being aggressive dunking da ball he looks like he might have got back a Lil confidence
He's big, fast, and has good hands. You can see why Memphis picked him that high. If he's at all coach-able, he should be every bit as good as Tyson Chandler.
Honestly Thabeet going 3-3 might make everyone go nuts but he did it when the game was already won. PP might returning will diminish his PT even more. At this point Thabeet will only get to play on back to backs and when someone gets injured.
The black giraffe stood around and caught the ball and dunked it after somebody handed it off to him. It wasn't nothing.
Thabeet looked so awkward out there, like that one time the ball came straight to him on a defensive rebound and Danny Green or someone tried to tip the ball away from Thabeet. He barely jumped and seemed surprised to find the ball still in his hands after the other player couldn't get that high. It was like a revelation for him. "Wait a minute, I'm 7'3!" I agree that a game like this is just what he needs, no pressure at all, he can prove to himself that the basket does not actually have an invisible lid on it. But yeah whatever he becomes, he definitely didn't show it today.
