aka I'll never respect you Chris Webber!!:mad:

Webber said either before the season(previewing the Thunder) or last night that Perkins "is a great fit for Boston. I do not think he is a great fit for OKC. He is not a one on one defender. They need a shotblocker."

I guess having the leading shot-blocker in the NBA last season (Ibaka) isn't enough for OKC.

Saying Perkins isn't a one-on-one defender is also stupid. That is EXACTLY what he is.

Yeah, I agree that was a dumb opinion by Webber, but Perk shouldn't have been such an ass about it.

I'm glad Perk called Webber's ass out.

    Good for him.

Analysts make misinformed comments all the time. Perkins could have defended himself without the, "Don't talk about me, I'm a champion" BS. Perkins was the 5th cog on a championship team, while Webber was the best player on a team that should have won a championship...Kind of a stupid way to call someone out if you ask me.

I'm not impressed with Webber's shtick nor his basketball iq. And he used to play for Adelman.

Of all the things about Webber one might criticize, basketball IQ shouldn't be one of them. He was a very intelligent player and had a great feel for the game.

I dont' get why you guys think its logical to compare players who stayed on the bench or didnt play at all in the finals and got rings vs perkins who had a huge role in holding down the paint for the celtics, his energy, one on one defense(shows what webber knows) on pau and bynum took the lakers' edge off

This has nothing to do with his on-court basketball IQ. It's about his studio commentary. What he said here was ignorant and isn't the first time he's said something just plain dumb.
