Even if Thabeet just stands and does nothing underneath the basket, he'll still have some opponents think about going for a layup... The only thing he needs to do is run up and down the floor.
Dream once said that working hard simply isn't enough, you need to have the talent. There are tons of athletes with amazing physical attributes that can't cut it in this league. Even defense requires talent. Quite frankly, there's no indication that Thabeet is even a hard worker. Don't bring up his physical shape. Kwame Brown was in fantastic shape every year with the Wizards, yet hid in his house when Gilbert Arenas would come by early to pick him up for practice.
The two extremes of ThaBusters and DaDaBadlees make it tough for those of us in the middle not quite ready to make a final determination on ThaBeet and McHale's status/future after JUST ONE GAME.
Maybe he just doesn't have it in him LOL. I mean, Mchale can reach guys like Jordan Hill and T-will right? That'll make the grizz coach, Rick Adelman and now Mchale who can't get through to him. IMHO unless they know Thabeet was putting in the work, IMHO they should just cut/amnesty him, sign Greg Smith as their new project and move on. As for motivation, everybody is already calling him a bust, and his rookie contract is about to run out. If that's not enough to put a chip on your shoulder I don't know what will...
The expectations on Clutchfans are high....and Thathabeet won't cut it in short time. He needs a lot of work..... Their are better options.....but give him one more season I would say
What I like about Thabeet is we can change our theme song to We've got Thabeets We've got Thabeets Ya!!!!
Actually, I am right in the middle, I have no idea if he will pan out or not, that is what I want to find out, and the only way that happens is if he gets playing time. DD
My point is, i already know that he is effective enough when he is in the game. He just needs to get in shape.
lol they only show up when he has a bad game. Personally, Thabeet give the Rockets a luxury most teams cant afford, a physical 7ft. I hope he pans out and becomes our center for the future
