Remember, last lockout Adelman gave the reins to another flashy passing rookie PG who couldn't shoot. Do you honestly think Rubio is better than White Chocolate after game one? Williams started every game for Adelman in 1999. "He's that good." That statement is more about Williams in 1999 than Rubio now. I do not think Rubio is as good as Jason Williams was in 1999...so far.
LOL. Rubio is miles better than White Chocolate. Not even comparable. Rubio controls the game, not just the highlight reel. Huge, huge difference that cannot be overstated.
Agreed, Rubio is much better at controlling tempo, and while WC had flashy assists too, he also turned it over quite a bit while Rubio does not. DD
I think it's even more funny that we're saying that about Adelman, when it took him almost half a season for these guys to get playing time to begin with! It's the first game and we're assuming we will not be playing M. Morris. I am sure if Adelman were our coach right now, Morris would have gotten the same amount of minutes. Adelman makes you earn your PT. Rubio is a smart player that already has SHOWN he will thrive in an Adelman offense, while Williams is the #2 draft pick with loads of potential on his first year (and has a good attitude.) It's a different situation over there.
No...we have no proof on that at all. Rubio's ceiling may indeed be equal to Jason Williams. Adelman is not starting Rubio. He started Williams. And what makes you think Rubio controls the game more than a rookie Williams did. You have no facts on that, right now. You are just inventing that. Williams was definitely a fast breaking phenom PG as a rookie. And Adelman trusted him enough to play the point to have him start alll 50 games. Rubio is not even a starter, yet.
With that statement, I think you are feeling something. If not oats, then some other grain. That's a bold prediction!
That was the saddest intro video by the Timberwolves. They all looked dead. They need to fire their marketing dept.
The wolves are still learning how to win. Beasley is a problem they will have to solve, but really all the pieces are there. They actually have too many pieces.
Define what you mean by too many pieces and name them. I'm not picking on you. Just trying to understand.
Beasley is the problem. They need to get it over with and just go with Derrick Williams at the 3 and Wes Johnson at the 2. Then trade Darko and Beasley for the first decent big they can find. Maybe they can get Big Al back for those two??
Darko + Beasley will get them a bag of popcorn. IMO, they should stick with Darko this season, dump Beasley and see what Rubio, Derrick Williams and Wesley Johnson become. They aren't going to the playoffs anyway. May as well keep Anthony Randolph on the pine until next summer unless he becomes a problem.
Ricky Rubio reminds me of Jose Calderon......he might be slightly better but not by much. Don't get the hype behind this guy, there is nothing I've seen so far that proves he's special.
