Not right now. The Pacers are extremely high on George at the moment. He isn't going anywhere unless it is for a top 5 talent. Just not gonna happen right now. Now, if George proves to be mediocre this season then the bloom might be off the rose and the Pacers may be more inclined to look at trades for him. But until then nope, nope to Martin, nope to Martin and Bud. We don't have a combo that the Pacers would look at for George. I'm not saying George is that good. Personally, I doubt how good he is going to really become. He's a stick out there. I'm not convinced he'll be even an average defender. I'm not convinced he will be an efficient enough scorer. He has great length and could be disruptive defensively because of his length. But he doesn't have good foot speed or quicks. He simply has very long strides. Reminds me of a young Tayshaun Prince and I think that is probably his upside. Just not that sold on him so I wouldn't trade Martin and Bud for him if I was Morey.
Trade #1 Scola for Gooden + 2012 Unprotected #1 Trade #2 Martin for Webster + Wes Johnson + 2012 Unprotected #1 Trade #3 Lowry to anyteam who isnt a contender who will give us an unprotected #1
Courtney Lee, Chase Budinger for DeMar Derozen. The Raptors are in need of a young small forward. Courtney Lee is a great replacement for Derozen and could start immediately. The Raptors essentially gain two young starters on great contracts, while we even out the roster, adding a young athletic player with potential. If Morris turns into starting material, Terrence and Derozen would make for an amazingly entertaining bench. I would worry a little about the drop in the ability to space the floor as well, but I woud jump on the chance at Derozen. Lowry/Dragic Martin/Derozen Morris/Williams Scola/Patterson Dalembert/Hill
Interesting move, but I think we would need to throw in that NY pick (won't be that good anyways) to sweeten the deal. The raptors have a bunch of scrubs with expiring contracts, so they're trying to be relevant for the 2012 draft and they will want all the picks they can get. This could also set us up for the next move, which is moving Martin (and possibly Scola).
How about a Kmart and C-bud for Lamar Odom swap? All 3 players are performing poorly and clearly out of sync with their teams. We trade for Odom, balance our roster and put out a better defensive on the floor. Odom is one of the people who can guard the Lebrons, the Melos and all the other athletic beasts on the sf spot. Plus, Odom's become a bit of a point forward, he can make the RA offense flow more smoothly. OTH, the Mavs need some depth and a better sg than Vince Carter. I think it makes sense for both teams.
Bird has always maintained he's not trading Granger for anything less than an All Star in return. He gives the reason that they're a small market cold weather team, ie no chance of signing an All Star in free agency.
Pacers are very high on George and they are not going to trade him or Granger for Martin + fillers/picks.
Andray blatche seems like a prime buy low candidate. anybody see a lot of him play and can tell us if we want this guy or not? 25yo 6'11" gifted athletically and has lots of talent. Selfish and cancer?
Al Jefferson just had a 2-16 shooting night, as the Jazz only scored 71 and were destroyed by the Lakers. So... Any chance they would consider trading their struggling, offensive minded, defensively challenged, not-quite-an-all-star for ours (Martin)?
I agree. We would probably need to add a pick for that to happen. Kevin Love has yet to sign an extension with the T-Wolves, and is quoted as saying he still has yet to make his mind up. He could become a grand prize around the league after Howard. I wonder if we have the right pieces to land him. It certainly helps having some of Adelman's guys on this team, and a copious amount of cap space next season. One can only dream...
I Love Derozan and I think he's going to be a star in this league. The problem with your trade idea is the Raptors probably think that too. C Lee is a nice player but he'll never be a star and Budinger is no more than a role player on a bad team and fodder to round out the roster on a really good team. A more fair trade offer to the Raptors would be K Mart and Derozan as the main pieces and I'm not sure they'd budge for that either. I think they'll build with Derozan as a core piece.
Love is a restricted. His agent has said he's still determining his market value. It's likley Kahn just hasn't offered a max extension.
We really need to swing a 3 way trade that involves us, the Wolves and Pacers. Of course the details will have to be refined but here's the gist of the trade. Houston Trades: Kevin Martin Houston Receives: Danny Granger Indiana Trades: Danny Granger Indiana Receives: Michael Beasley and Anthony Randolph Minny Trades: Michael Beasley and Anthony Randolph Minny Receives: Kevin Martin Why I think this works? Granger is owed quite a bit of money over the next few years. This may be a turnoff for the Pacers. If that's not reason enough getting rid of Granger provides more minutes for Paul George which really needs to happen. Although, Granger's contract isn't super attractive it's not terrible either. He's still only 28, in his prime and brings a well rounded game and has superstar talent. I think a change of scenery outside of Indiana would do him well. By trading Martin this also opens up more minutes for C.Lee which he totally deserves. Martin to Minnesota makes too much sense not to happen. The Wolves desperately need a 2 guard and if that's not reason enough Adelman is there. No more needs to be said. This is an attractive offer for the Pacers as they pretty much kill 2 birds with one stone. By trading Granger it basically becomes George's team and solidifies him plenty of minutes at his natural 3 position. Also, by taking on Randolph and Beasley it gives them a ton of flexibility since these guys both only have 1 year left on their contracts. Pacers can test them out and use them like a "trial period" in this short season and see if either one of them fits into their core for the future. Lowry/Dragic Lee/ T.Will Granger/ Bud/ Morris Scola/ Patterson Dalembert/ Hill Of course Hill, Bud, Dragic, Thabeet and Flynn could be a part of the trade to make things work but if our starting lineup looked like that I'd be very excited and confident we could be extremely competitive. We get the perfect mix of offense and defense with that squad with all players playing their natural position. I've envisioned Granger in a Rockets jersey for a long time and a simple swap for him in place of Martin makes us that much better.
Love will get the Max plus whatever the hell he desires such as Kahn's wife/daughter what have you. Love and Griffin are the new untouchables of the league.
