Fable 2 seems to be the general consensus, though I occassionally run into someone who likes 3 better.

Can't give my own opinion, since that and Alan Wake are the only big 360 exclusives I haven't played.

Wow I just looked up Tales and it costs 40 bucks at gamestop! Is it worth it? I've made up my mind and am definitely getting reach and fable 2. Now I am torn between wake, vesperia, left 4 dead

Seriously, get ME1 anyway. It's worth it just to play on its own... like I said, I personally prefer it to ME2. The Mako makes it feel more open-world, and the story is a lot better. Doesn't matter if you get it on PC or X-Box, but definitely get it. Should be dirt-cheap by now.

Can't help you on Fable, I've only played the second one. It was fun, but I got tired of it after about a week and never played it again.

Screw Alan Wake. It's all atmosphere and style and very little gameplay, also extremely linear. The other two are solid. Just depends on what you're looking for.

Personally, I prefer Dead Island (which is on both X-Box and PS3) to Left 4 Dead. That's just me. But Left 4 Dead isn't bad. My brother likes it. I'd go for Vesperia since it sounds like you already have some shooters and might want to change it up, but you have to like JRPGs. It is worth it for $40 if you do... probably my favorite JRPG of the decade along with Persona 3: FES for the PS2 (or Persona 3 Portable for the PSP, same difference). The fact that it remains $40 just goes to show that it's held its value well.

Left 4 Dead is meant to be a multiplayer game. To get the most out of it, you'll want to play with friends. Zombie rushes with 3 friends is awesome... add alcohol for more entertainment value.

You're right. That's probably why I'm ho-hum on it, since I don't often play multiplayer.

I do have dead island and I enjoyed it so I might pass on l4d. I enjoy jrpgs but it just seems like a lot for 40. I think I will get it though because as you said, I do have many shooters.

I like the second one a lot better and one of the reasons why is there is no Mako. Sure it made it feel open world but I can't tell you how many times it got stuck on something for me where the only option is to load your last save.

Good times. Let me know how you like it. I found the combat system really really refreshing after all the point-and-click style RPGs. I think it's the only JRPG ever that I've finished the first time and then played it all the way through again on New Game+ without a break. This after spending 80 hours on the first playthrough. It's just a really fun game.

FYI, some of the basic combat mechanics actually take a few hours of gameplay to unlock. The game immediately gets better when they start letting you do limit breaks and fatal strikes.

To each his own. For me, the way the second game was set up, it was very obvious that it was just a bunch of small linked shooting areas. Made me feel sort of claustrophobic. And I liked the fact in the first game that powers had separate cooldowns rather than a shared cooldown. It was kinda fun having those ridiculously large skill trees.

Funny how people mention the 360 doesn't have good exclusives and the PS3 does...cause I feel the exact opposite. I did not like Uncharted (although maybe I should give 2 or 3 a try) and Killzone I played a little bit and haven't gone back. Of course Metal Gear is great, but it's not solely an exclusive anymore. And I could care less about the RPGs and stuff.

You should definitely play 2! That game was probably the best game on ps3 (heavy rain a close 2nd IMO). I'm not a big fan of killzone either. The only exclusives on ps3 I actually care for are the uncharted series and heavy rain.

Left 4 Dead is essentially only a multiplayer game and completely unique in that sense. No game has ever captured the atmosphere of a zombie apocolypse like that game. u really feel like you life is on the line while playing it and screaming at ur friends

I tend to agree. resistence 1 was one of my all time favorite games, but the 2nd bored me. I also hate rpgs and a lot of japanese games, so the ps3 exclusives do nothing for me

    Let's see, PS3 exclusives I care about:

    Demon's Souls
    Dark Souls
    InFamous
    Disgaea 3+4
    Valkyria Chronicles
    3D Dot Game Heroes
    Metal Gear
    Uncharted 1+2+3

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls were the biggest deal for me... Demon's Souls was the reason I bought a PS3 in the first place. Also enjoyed the heck out of inFamous. I like the Disgaea games, but they're not actually substantially different from the first two. And Valkyria Chronicles is a really fun and unique game. The other ones I listed are gravy.

Looking my list, they're all single-player games. If I played more multiplayer I might prefer the 360 with the Gears and Halo and such, but it's just not my bag.

Forgot about some of these. I enjoyed infamous. Still haven't played demons souls (heard it was extremely difficult). Some others are just okay such as heavenly sword. I thought valkyria was very good too. Like rhino said, resistance fall of man was great as well. I think both systems are great and have their own good exclusives. It's good to have both

You know, I played the first little bit, and it was pretty good fun. My old roommate bought it for his girlfriend, so I watched her play more of it than I actually played (and heck, watching someone playing it is almost as good as playing it yourself).

I may eventually get it and finish it on my own. Major points for originality in any case.

But there is this problem with it. :)
