Even Worrell and Bullard were questioning his late game lineup.

    I've never heard that before.

    And they were right.

I am convinced we are in tank mode, I hope this is the case.

He probably thought Martin was the superstar on the perimeter which he is not.

It just looked bad for a stretch in the 4th when the team looked dead exhausted, or just no hustle. The small line up was terrible!
Looked like we were the team on the back to back, not the Magic !

    McHale grade points:

+1 for going with Lee over Martin doen the stretch

-1 for playing Scola on D12

-1 for not giving Dragic more PT

-1 for playing Adren over Morris (even though Morris look a little lost)

-1 for playing Morris as PF. he is a natural SF.

+1 for staying with twill. he looked very tamed and under control. played well.

-1 not activating Thabeet over Flynn

    Additional Notes (imo):

2 days off for practice will be huge after playing a real game!!!.

JHill lookedd decent and should continue to get significant PT but based on this game SammyD should def start. He needs to get in shape.

Twill needs to play with 1st group and bud with the second. He wont have the urge to dominate the ball with kl7 at the point. Bud is better for the second group for spacing and flow with Lee and Dragic.

PPat should eliminate any minutes given to Adren, which is a good thing.

KMart needs to get his head together and get up a ton of shots until he gets his feel back.

    ROTATION:

    SammyD / JHill / Thabeet
    Scola / PPat / Adren
    Twill / CBud / Parsons
    Martin / Lee
    Lowry / Dragic / Flynn

Then you clearly didn't listen to too many Rockets games during Rick's tenure..mainly Worrell has questioned his decisions especially when a certain group brought the team back or a player was hot only for Adelman to take them out. Ergo, it does not mean that much. Scola was in there for offensive purposes and Howard didn't own him like a b****.

I'd give the guy a break given the shortened training camp and the weirdness during it.

McHale is no Adelman and be prepared for more disappointments.

alot of **** has to be running through his head now that he could be potentially thinking about right now; "im just playing for the money", "morey really don't want me on this team so why should i even try?" or "i'll work this job like a regular 9 to 5, win or lose, just as long as i go the fuck home afterwards." i hope these thoughts aren't running through kevin martin's mind right now.:(

Yeah why did McHale take our center out for the last 5-6 minutes? Going small might work against some teams but against the team with the best center in the league? Makes no sense.

i know. it felt like preseason having the last man in play ahead of our 1st rounder regardless of position.

4 years ago, Adelman had a full training camp, a team full of veteran players, and still needed a quarter of a season if not more to adjust to the new team. Oh how quickly people forget what happens when you have a new coach.

The small line up didn't work, but I don't see why people are so confused with why McHale went with that group. Orlando went small the last 6+ minutes and had Turkoglu at the 4. If we stayed with Dalembert in the game instead of Twill, then Scola would've had to guard to Turkoglu, which wouldn't have worked either.

Of course that would've forced Turkoglu to try to guard Scola in the post on the other end, but we weren't in a position to be able to trade baskets. We were down and need to stop them for a few consecutive possessions and score on our end as well.

It's going to take a good bit of time for the team to get up to speed. The problem is, they don't have any.

He would have fit in just fine had he hit his open shots.
