So this is the schedule: Times TBA by NFL....

    January 7th, 2012

AFC Wildcard #1 vs AFC Wildcard #4

NFC Wildcard #2 vs NFC Wildcard #3

    January 8th, 2012

AFC Wildcard #2 vs AFC Wildcard #3

NFC Wildcard #1 vs NFC Wildcard #4

    2012 NFL Divisional Playoffs
    January 14th, 2012

AFC Divisional Winner #1 vs winner AFC #1/#4

NFC Division Winner #2 vs winner NFC #2/#3

    January 15th, 2012

NFC Divisional Winner #1 vs winner NFC #1/#4

AFC Division Winner #2 vs winner AFC #2/#3

I'm assuming the Texans (AFC seed #3 and Wild Card seed #1) right now are most likely to be playing on Saturday in the early game.......is this correct?

Actually no. I believe like in the flex situation NBC gets first dibs on game they want. Example last year colts played jets at night and Seattle played saints during the day.

it's number 3 seed Texans vs second wild card, which is the sixth seeded team.

    "if the season ended today."

Cincy comes to Houston, Tebows go to Pittsburgh.

Assuming Houston wins, we go to Baltimore.
Cincy wins, they go to New England

Basically, win the first game, we go back to Baltimore.

Not set in stone. BAL can still get the frist seed if they win and NE loses next week. If that happened, and if we won the WC game, we would go to NE.

NBC will want Tebow, include the fact that they will play Pittsburgh and pretty sure the Texans will get the early Sunday game.

I would rather have our game Sunday actually, so I can enjoy at least the Saturday games for sure.

If we played Saturday and we lost, I wouldn't really be able to enjoy the Sunday Playoff games cause I would be mad.

Denver will play pitt at home not in Pittsburgh btw.

And we aren't competing with them for a night game, we are competing with Dallas/giants. Vs most likely the lions but possibly the falcons.

To be honest nothing would make me happier than beating Bengals /raiders/titans/jets then watching that Dallas trash lose!

I would love to face the Titans but I think that would require them winning Sunday and than more stuff to fall their way...

    So I'd hope for Cincy...

Please please please be saturday. It would be such a great tail gate, as long as everyone's in their seats by gametime.

Does anyone know if the Saturday primetime game (Wild Card) alternates by conference? I was under the impression it did. I know it does in the divisional and conference championship rounds... a.k.a., one year the NFC has the Saturday night divisional game and the AFC the Sunday evening championship... the next year it's reversed.

The last three years, the Saturday night Wild Card games have been: Colts-Jets (2011), Cowboys-Eagles (2010), and Chargers-Colts (2009). If it's the same policy as the latter two rounds, the NFC has the Saturday night game this year and NBC doesn't have the option to take the Tebows late.

I'm hoping for Sunday. SHSU plays in the national championship game at noon on saturday. I don't think I can mentally handle both games on the same day.

Yes we are the number one seed for the Wild Card games. We'll be on CBS (at three) or NBC (at night)

NBC will show both games on Saturday. The Sunday games will be shown on CBS and Fox. It's not known yet which network will get the early game and which one will get the late game.

The NFL hasn't announced which games will be played on what days. We probably won't find out when the Texans are playing until Sunday afternoon after the game.
