LOL we have a winner. Oh and...they're all tall. Poor logic. Running with a short center in this league is like driving with a flat tire. It won't take you far.

I am happy for Chuck, but it was pretty clear that he was not really in the Rockets plans......

interesting... that shows a lot about his work ethic if the physical and everything is finished.

I don't think he's actually SIGNED his contract yet.

I wouldn't read anything about his work ethic into this.

I love Chuck but he is not a better rebounder or shot blocker and does not protect the rim.

good to know! I would hate to have to root for a guy who gets his contract and then doesn't try

It's weird that we've basically switched centers... the Kings already named Chuck as captain today. I'm going to miss seeing him in red though :(

Edit: and to the poster above, I wasn't knee jerking - I was just curious as to why... perhaps I didn't say it in the right way, but if I had so little time before games started to get ready to work with a team I would want to be there for every practice if only to watch and get acclimated to the team concepts - When I read it the first time I didn't get the "sat out" rather was thinking did not attend - what can I say.. my reading comprehension was sucky :)

    and merry christmas back!

Sorry Chuck but we need a tall center. Keep doing your thing though.

Chuck exhibits more hoops leadership quality but Sam is the gooder human being overall.

I'm already there... but as to answer who will I root for now... Lowry and Patterson are still two of my faves... as well as Scola :)

Hey, Mark Eaton was awesome. Two-time Defensive Player of the Year, and still holds the record for most blocked shots in a season (456, or 5.56 per game), as well as still holding the career record for blocks per game (3.50).

Admittedly, that's more than Hakeem, but Eaton retired prematurely.

...What, I'm allowed to respect ONE Jazz player, right? It's not like he flopped all over the place and decked out cheap shots like Stockton and Malone did...

No you aren't. Especially from the Stockton/Malone era.

We're going to have to take your fan card.

or how all the championships won in Texas were behind by big men.

Hakeem, Duncan, Robinson, Dirk, and Chandler.

when was the last team to win a championship starting a 6'6" center? Even Wes Unseld was 6'7".
