Patterson isn't ready to play yet, right? So why would you expect him to be in the rotation for the Orlando game?
Since when was Dalembert considered a definitive starter? There is nothing he has ever shown in his career that would make someone think he deserves a starting role from day 1
My guess is: PG- Lowry SG- Martin SF- Budinger PF - Scola C- Hill Basically it's what thy've been going with in preseason. Maybe by year's end (unless there's a trade, which there almost certainly would be): PG- Lowry SG - Martin SF- Morris PF- Scola C- Dalembert
Sometimes I am amused of the basketball knowledge of many posters in here. Thabeet hate in here puzzles me to say the least. How in the heck you start Hill against Dwight? We experimented this last year going with undersized center against all nba true centers, the results were lay up drill after another. Like someone alluded to in a different thread, Houston defense wasn't that bad last year only the lack of true center to secure the defensive boards killed the Rox more than anything. Last preseason game against San Antonio is another good example, the first unit with Hill playing center was getting murdered by the Spurs. The second unit with Thabeet providing much needed height, clearly played a solid defense as a unit. You start Thabeet, and you bring Hill to match up with Anderson who likes to hang on the perimeter shooting threes. Only problem with Thabeet is his conditioning which will come eventually with games. Have Sammy D and Thabeet alternate time against D Howard to actually make it a game.
Start Thabeet against Orlando? LMFAO.... Yeah, he had a nice block against SA, what about the 3 times he got beat down the court because he's out of shape? What about the time he let Duncan drive right past him to the rim? Thabeet is done, he's toast. He's essentially an expiring contract, that's his value with the Rockets at this point.
Thabeet was beaten once by Duncan, he took a wrong angle and Duncan drove to the basket no shame there afterall Duncan is a HoF. The 3 times you are talking about I didn't see, are you sure you didn't have Thabeet hate glasses on? We agree that he is not in a game shape, and that is why I said you alternate time between him and Sammy D. The limited time I saw Thabeet this preseason I was encouraged. He is very active on the boards, he changes a lot of shots which I believe you don't see. Thabeet will prove a lot of people wrong this season
His ankle is not recovering from activity as fast as it should. If I had to to guess he will not be fully recovered from having those bone spurs removed till late January. Your ankles take a beating when you play basketball I don't know what he was thinking getting the surgery done so late. He should have got it done in June. Instead of waiting till the Fall.
Game strategy = let dwight get his 30/15 and do not double team. Contain their 3 point game. That is how the hawks won in playoffs. This will frustrate dwight and hopefully also leave a good impression of our team in his mind
I believe a star in this league is created threw hard work and dedication. Morris looks like he has it, although minutes might be an issue. I believe if houston want to have a star they have it in morris they just have to let him start and let him do him. Let the men play let him learn from his mistakes.
start? He has to earn those minutes from his hard work in practice and in the game. He may get a shot at starting later in the season he works for it.
Some questions before the game: Is Patrick Patterson playing? Is Lin still in our roster? Will Morris get more playing time than Budinger?
