You seriously can't believe that he actually said that? That would be like me saying that you like men. You like clutchfans, clutchfans are a group of guys and gals who love the Houston Rockets, the Houston Rockets are a team comprised of men... Therefore you like men. That's the same logic behind this supposed Obama quote... Honestly, living up here in Eugene I find myself becoming more and more conservative. All these super liberals polarize me. I hate social welfare programs. I hate how much money I have to throw away by giving it to the government, property taxes are outrageous out here. I hate the fact that the government completely controls hard liquor in government run liquor stores. Heck, I hate how the state thinks because it gives my University 10% of its budget it gets to run my University. I'm slowly but surely turning conservative. Then a group of a-hole conservatives pull this crap and suddenly I'm a liberal again. I would rather have all those evils present, than be around of bunch of racist, bigoted, and ignorant group of people. If you can't argue Obama's flaws without lying, then maybe your arguments are just not strong enough on their own...
which one of those stats above do you think is a lie? Highest black unemployment in 28 years? Misery Index at 28 year high? Poverty rate swells to 1 in 6? Stop name calling and make some coherent points.
How about the biggest point of all, the fact that he didn't say he was the 4th best president in American History?... Did you overlook that one?... It's kinda staring you in the face here
We can bicker about what Obama said actually means, but it seems pretty pointless. You can edit the above picture with Obama saying 'My domestic and foreign policies are fourth best in modern history' if it makes you feel better. It doesn't discredit any of the reasons why Obama is the worst president in history, your just being unreasonably picky. Though it doesn't make you incorrect: The Boston Herald Disagrees with your argument So does the Washington Times So does the Washington Examiner
Yes, but the picture as is paints Obama as a president who is not only arrogant but ignorant to his own country's status. If you paste in the qualifier, you suddenly have a string of tangential (albeit important) remarks around a somewhat apt statement. Suddenly the cartoon itself loses its power. Obama isn't the ignorant and arrogant ass the cartoon totes him to be. Like I said, attack Obama on the ground he should be attacked. The economy is crap. The nation is still divided on a lot of fronts. People can't get jobs. The government puts money in areas it really shouldn't... These are all damning remarks, yet what protrudes in the forefront is a misquote. Why lie when your best evidence isn't even the lie? Yet, this is where a lot of conservatives love to stand. It's just sad. Let's attack the guy because where he was supposedly not born, let's make racist and bigoted images of him in tribal garb, let's superimpose the joker's image onto Obama, no Hitler's, no Satan, let's call him elitist because he's educated, ooh! Let's misquote the guy... The list goes on. Why do these avenues of distress toward him exist? My only logical conclusion is that the arguments against him are not strong enough on their own.
But Obama's statement is still equally as ridiculous (not sure why you call it apt. You're next paragraph proves it was not 'apt'). The cartoon still mocks Obama for the exact same reason. The cartoon does attack him on this. You are being willfully ignorant if you think that's how Obama is being attacked. Everyday he is getting slaughtered with attacks on Obamacare, the Economy, Solyndra, Operation Fast and Furious, The failure of the stimulus package, his OWS support, the bailouts, his treatment of Israel, the Gibson guitar factory raid, the deficit, lack of leadership on making medicare and medicaid solvent, his grandma jeans, amongst many other things, but all you see is some picture on some obscure blog made by some teenager. Nothing you have said justifies your incredibly inappropriate labeling 'racist, bigoted, and ignorant group of people'. Shame on you.
this post needs to be engraved on the D&D as a constant reminder because wasting time to actually take basso's post seriously is bad enough
Merry Christmas Dr. Tallanvor. I hope Santa cherry-picked information to compile your christmas list, as well.
Basso/Tallanover are right. Obama is a socialist marxist who is arrogant and yet awful at the same time. Because of Obama, the country has fallen apart. The tea party has put forth a noble effort to stop him, but sadly, evil has won out once again. Obama wants to take money from the rich (tax them) and give it to the middle class (tax cuts for them). This is wrong. It is evil. And he wants big gov't dictating your life. He wants to prevent you from your right to breath carcinogens. From your right to give carcinogens and germs to others. He wants to tell your kids things. Like how to do math and science. He wants to make your kids compete against the Chinese and Indians in his little socialist game so we can have the "Smartest" kids. Instead we need jobs. Good jobs, jobs like janitors for Donald Trump. That's a job you can't outsource Mr. Obama. We need more of those jobs. And only guys like Donald Trump can create those jobs buy cutting their taxes so they can own more real estate to hire more servants. You got that? Yessiree? Obama has brought destruction upon America. We have lost millions of jobs. It's time to cut more and more spending - end gov't. That will create jobs. Obama has lost jobs. It does not matter that in the past two years there have been millions of private sector jobs created...which have been off set by the lost of millions of gov't jobs because of draconian spending cuts. That's not the point. The point is that we need to continue to kill gov't jobs and continue to blame Obama for not having enough job growth and therefore he must cut more spending and kill more gov't jobs so we can attack him more for poor job growth. That's the point. Finally, it's time we end all the Islamists, gays, illegals, and poor. They are the drain on America. If we kick out all of them, and stop giving them hand outs, and give everyone powerful guns to kill them when they try to rob us when they try to steal from us because they are too lazy to work without handouts, and if do all of that, and build more jails to put them into or allow us to shoot them - than America can be great again. There is no problem with poverty if we confine them to their own neighborhoods and let them rot. There is no threat that they may riot. They are all lazy. They do not deserve to be educated or fed or insured. And let's talk about insurance. It's high time that if you can't pay, that you don't get care. Doesn't matter if you are having a heart attack, hospitals should be able to turn away people if they do not prove they have 100% coverage, or if their insurance only covers 80%, a patient must front the rest of the money upfront or receive nothing. This will fix health care. No more handouts. Yes, the lazy will die, but that takes the burden off the rest of us. So please, it is time, to elect republicans to every post in gov't, and only than expand gov't. Only than can gov't be out of our lives - except to ban homosexual marriage and abortions of course. And to fight wars and keep illegals out. End the EPA, the federal reserve, the FDA, and the rest of the departments. End medicare, social security, and FHA. End them all. Let the people rule. With guns and god. We will take America back and make it a great country again. Just like Somalia. Happy Holidays Clutchfans!
You are an unamerican liar. Obama said he is the 4th best President ever, and you just know he really thinks he is BETTER than Reagan, Lincoln and Nixon. He thinks he is above Christianity! He wants us to worship Allah or the State. Did anyone see his socialist "holiday" card??? He really isn't our President anyway, he wasn't born in the USA.
Do you think the person that drew this even knows what the job of the Executive Branch is? Do you think he knows who the current leadership of the House is? the recent filibuster rules? The systematic housing and banking deregulation, unfinanced war debt, and high income tax cuts left behind by the 8 years of the Bush administration from when they wielded Congressional control? Probably he does, it just pays better to draw crap for the Heritage foundation.
The author would be two time Pulitzer prize winning political cartoonist Michael Ramirez and he knows more than you. Or The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New York Post, Time Magazine, National Review and US News and World Report all of which his cartoons have been published in. Sounds to me like the White House doesn't even agree with this 'that's not what Obama said' argument: Sounds like they are trying to justify the claim.
I said and I mean and you can offer any refutation that point by point the list of accusations tied to the president in the political cartoon, are the result of Republican policies enacted during the Bush,Rove,Gramm,Delay,Armey years that he, President has little or no influence over, especially with a hostile obstructive Congress. And, that the cartoon is purposely oblivious to reality and as such is political propaganda. It's an embarrassment to political satire and the pulitzer.
This may be true, but it is also the job of the president to persuade. As fair or possible as it may or may not be, that's Obama's job. His first two years, he had very little road blocks, but the passed legislation has been met with less than stellar reviews to say the least, and because of it the Democrats lost control of the House. This is what usually happens during the course of a president's term. Obama does not get a free pass here, nor does he get to lay blame on previous presidents. Obama has done a mediocre job at best, and he takes the blame. That is the job of the president.
