Watching the news, I love how they do reports live from either Northline or Greenspoint.

    Makes me chuckle a bit.

I know white people go nuts over iPhones and are just as crazy as everyone else when it comes to black Friday... but this is ridiculous. These aren't isolated incidents, it happened all over the freaking country. CRAZY doesn't even begin to describe it.

Not these days. When the newest Nike Sombreros come out, that's when they riot.

    We're talking about shoes?...

...Shoes?... Why the heck would people line up for shoes? I could understand if they were shoes that Jordan has actually worn, or maybe personally made by himself, but seriously it's just Nike re-branded crap... and this coming from a University of Oregon student. Anyone who actually stood in line, got in fights, or anything of the sort have no life.

I swear, if this is the direction we as a country are headed in, we are screwed.

Lol you could also say that for video games, people lining up for COD or w/e. Country is messed up because nobody really cares. Most people I know in college don't give a **** about their schooling. They play games all day and pay 7k+ a semester to do so.

People line up at midnight for video games, but please feel free to show me where it turns violent like this? It doesn't... I know, because I have been lining up at midnight for video games for 15+ years. Nerds don't generally get in to fist fights, they avoid them. This is ridiculous.

I will give you that Black Friday gets nuts (all races), but that is directly related to the amount of money you'll save on items... where this is just coveting a $200 pair of shoes. Sure some people will flip them for profit, but most actually want the shoe itself.

I got in fights in the early 90s when people wanted my Jordans, it's just progressed from there. I just don't understand it.

Difference between video games and shoes:
Jordans are limited. Once that midnight sale ends you won't see that shoe for nearly a decade or more.
Video games are sold on midnight because people want a head start to prestige early on CoD or something... (or maybe to get a digital item in game or a preorder bonus). The product itself is not in short supply.

    Anyways.
Jordan and his team do this on purpose. Make anything "limited" or "exclusive"; jack up the prices and then watch as people kill each other to cop some shoes.

The shoes are nice, but its not worth people dying and getting mugged in the streets.

I thought i heard ammonia...but i figured she just didn't pronounce the beginning clearly

What people to need to understand is 3 things:

    1) these are one of the most popular sneakers EVER.

    2) they are sold in limited numbers, unlike other popular shoes, like the chuck taylors.

    3) this means you can easily flip them for double the price...in many cases triple, and if you wait long enough, possibly 4 -6 times the price.

That's why people wait in lines. You'll never get it, if you dont care for shoes much, but it's not as crazy as it sounds, waiting in line, when you take those 3 things into consideration.

That being said...they should consider just taking written entries for a week and then drawing X number of "winners" who can buy the limited quantities.
