Kubiak for whatever reason had no confidence in Yates' loss to the Colts. So who do you go with from here on out? Do you go with Delhomme or dare I say it Garcia (both with experience) or stay with Yates?

Hey I'm on your side. So why didn't Kubiak let him throw deep? Why the short leash?

Who the **** do you think was open deep tonight? It sure as hell wasn't Jacoby.

No AJ = no one deep.

    yates is fine.

not his fault his o-line pass blocking is ass.

not his fault he has one of the worst wr corps in the nfl (with aj out) right now.

not his fault he only threw the ball 16 times.

yates knows the offense better than delhomme.

kubiak would call an even more conservative game with delhomme.

It doesn't matter who'll play QB if the only routes being run are 5 yard crosses and 8 yard drags on the play action.

yates will be the qb no question. they need to let him air it out against Tennessee. no sense in holding anything back.

Point taken. But regardless, Kubiak held back on the reigns. Playcalling was 70-30, like you said. Was it because Kubiak just didn't have faith in Yates and saw something in practice that we didn't? If so, then how can we win, even with AJ back?

I'd love to continue with Yates, but something's gotta give with how Kubiak plays him. They gotta let him air it out. 16 points per game (more of them on FGs) is not gonna cut it.

I think it's more like Kubiak doesn't have confidence in our WR's. If we had AJ and another WR that could run a deep route and get open, I think we would see some long throws.

As disgusted as I am with the loss to the Colts...this is just a dumb question. Yates is going to make a few mistakes. He's a rookie.
He did not lose that game last night. Period.

I don't know... might have been because Foster was averaging 7 yards/carry, which was almost as good as Yates YPA.

I can't explain them only scoring 16; it's disappointing. And I hated Kubiak twice opting for FGs when he had 4th and short in Colt territory on a night Foster was nearly unstoppable (including the "game-clinching" last FG; convert there and game over. I HATED it).

BUT.... You gotta put this one on the defense. It looked like 2010. Dan Orlovsky orchestrated a 2-minute drive with no TOs needing 6 to win? INEXCUSABLE.

Not all Yates's fault but maybe Kubiak has a legit reason for having no confidence in his passing. He threw into double coverage constantly during the Panther's game and got picked off. The only 3rd down converted in last night's game (the lucky bounce) was a terrible pass that could have easily been a pick. Bad play calling by Kubiak but Yates couldn't adapt on a 3rd down at all? when the play was covered well he couldn't improvise to get us ANY of those crucial possible 1st downs?? Let's face it, he played well enough in the Falcon's game but got real lucky with some of their penalties (his baaad interception was luckily overturned), he played bad 3/4 of the Bengals game, all of the Panther's game, very underwhelming this game. I stay stick with him but he has alot to learn. We're a game away from the playoffs and we still don't know what to expect from him which is very concerning.

If you watched the game you would know Winston is owned by Robet Mathis inc. and can do nothing against him. 5 and 7 step drops would result in a comatose T. J. Yates.

I seriously think Wade pumps up Kubiak

"Man, It's fourth and short" - Kubes
"Dude, Go for it . . my defense will handle it." - Wade
    "you sure?" - Kubes
"I got ya back!" - Wade
    "We going for it!!"

That does not happen with the substitute
I think Kubes does alot of second guessing and I think
he trusts the defense more when Wade is there

What bothers me . . . Yates is getting WORSE
his 1st game he was flying high
It is almost like Kubes said. . yea that is good
but don't do that isht again!

Teams dont have to cover for the deep ball because Andre is not there. Makes defending us a bit easier I guess

Our offense should not be predicated off of one player.

It's not; Foster averaged 7 YPC last night. But our passing game, especially when being led by a 5th round rookie, sure as heck is.

Not converting any third downs is scary. But on all those 3rd and longs, none of the routes looked to even reach the yellow line. They were all dependent on yac's to reach teh first down, something Kubiak has relied on in the past.

Gary Kubiak is widely regarded as an offensive mastermind. And you're suggesting he runs short routes on 3rd and long? If Yates isn't throwing to Daniels, Walter and/or Jones (which he rarely did the other night), then he's very likely checking down to his 2nd or 3rd or 4th option, guys.

The Texans were able to scheme a couple of guys open in the Colts game, but there's no one out there that can beat man coverage on the Texans and that severely limits with the offense can do via the passing game.

Let's all just pray that AJ80 comes back healthy and is able to go on a Larry Fitzgerald-type blitzkrieg during the playoffs. He's really our only hope to loosen up the defense and have any semblance of a downfield passing attack.
