I've been buying 501s for at least two decades and for the first time a "zipper" button broke off...for no reason. lol. The designer jeans that girls (including my nieces) make me buy to be in fashion rarely last past 6 mos before they lose a button or just rip. 501s last until they are in shreds, to the point that is a fashion statement unto itself. So what is up with this new pair. Did they start using less quality? People at work think I should mail the button to Levi for a new pair. Anyone else ever have a malfunctioning 501 button.

Yeah, I'd think most corporate labels, especially ones with 100-year-old designs like these, are basically just an ad budget and some copyright lawyers. They might not even actually "sell" the jeans, just license the name and specs to some wholesaler/manufacturer.
