I appreciate the optimism, after one preseason game and a handful of HIGHLIGHT videos on youtube, but a bit of reality is in order.

Matchups will dictate where he plays, count on it. Watch the tape, he got to the line off the dribble last night in hi 1ST GAME. BTW, EVERY player taken @ the 14th pick is considered a role player until he proves other wise.

All that's really being said is that the kid has tools to score, and he does! ;)

    - haha this is his second game

    - k so he is big and has a smooth J.... melo is the best scorer in the league, Morris has a long way to go b4 being considered even melo lite
    - he also needs to work on his athleticism... but ya can become a solid player
    - please don't overhype him off a preseason game

As I researched, JJackson was a bonafide 20 ppt per game player
Past glories.....well feel sorry for him that he could not keep that up for more than one or two seasons.

    Well his 2nd game.

Saying that the kid has tools to be a good offensive player is overhyping?
I never said word one about Melo. BTW, Melo did not invent mid-range offensive basketball.

In this case it was you lol.. u were eye rolling someone after undelrining and bolding that it was his first game... then you eye role me when i correct it lol..

    - anyways, i think morris should start the season in the d league and come back near the middle or end of the season.. It would really help with his development and i think it will boost his confidence doing well in the d league.
    - He also is a rookie who did not go through summer league and had a shortnede d league. It must be very rushed for him so i think he should not be getting many minutes to start the season

Holy crap, page 5 only has 3 members posting back and forth. What a debate!

In all seriousness, I am going to wait a little longer before I claim Morris comparable to any proven players in/out of the league. Although, I will say he has potential and he seems like he's determined enough to tap into it. The jab step and shot are nice and all but I want to see him take someone off the dribble to the lane. When I see this more consistently then I'll be more impressed. For now, its just fun to watch these young guys develop.

Did I miss something or was nearly all of his time spent at the 4?

I thought we would see him at the 3.

Patrick Patterson was out, and we also had Chandler Parsons playing, and out of Parsons and Marcusaurus, Morris was better suited to playing the 4.

I think Leonard is a specialist type. Morris has more upside on O...but he can still learn to defend.

The thing is Rockets fans constantly complain about the Rockets not drafting guys with huge upside. Yet somehow they still wanted Lenard over the guy with more upside.

Fans just get pissed whenever a team passes on the "highest mock draft player left" guy. Because for some absurd reason they feel internet mock drafts and ESPN knows more about basketball than a GM with very good draft record.

This is not about Clutchfans only. People pick a sure thing over potential. It's understandable however Morris is such a force you can't pass up. Leonard scored what 2 and 4 points in two games?

Yeah, Leonard is what he is. He can only play on one side of the court. Rockets had been stuck with one-way player for the last few years(Hayes, Ariza, Wafer, Battier, Martin, Scola, Brooks, Landry, Budinger, etc)

Morris has much higher potential to be a two-way player, than Leonard. I never understood the hype for a low ceiling one-trick pony.
