You wouldn't want to use it on EDGE anyways lol. That doesn't surprise me at all, but I guess I can see how it would to some. I don't blame Apple though. I blame carriers. For those of you with iPhones that are unlocked, I heard H20 wireless is pretty neat. Anyone have that?
If you spend 800 bucks on a phone you better make sure it works as you want it to work, if you don't and you get burned it's no ones fault but your own.
I think Apple's part in this is keying you to the phone's ID mechanisms. So the iphone talks to apple and then talks to the carrier. Once you set it to the carrier, both Apple and the carrier sets your iphone to the carrier. Since they aren't divulging who is locking it, the specifics are hazy. I mean, there's a lot of Apple software intrinsically tied to your prefs and designed to make the most use out of your usage and data. Changing profiles would mean Apple has thought of some universal system to deal with each carrier's data storage/transfer protocols. That sounds unlikely because it's too much trouble for what it's worth. /IT geek The thing that bugs me is that "couldn't care less" sounds grammatically incorrect. IMO, it should be "couldn't care any less". So my thinking is, if you're correcting someone with an anal pet peeve, you should go full anal.
