Not superstars but all-star caliber players I think that can be had for the right price are Josh Smith and Al Jefferson.
All we can do is hope that Lowry, Morris, T-will, and Ppat can keep improving. They have potential to be all-stars for us. Just don't go for the overrated players like Iggy and Granger. They have bad contracts and don't do anything except delay our goals.
Still AI 2.0 , Granger, who seems to be untouchable, some young rising stars.... I know we got them on our roster already...... haha
I don't think there's a high likelihood of getting a true superstar (top 5-8)guy. Our best chance is to get that 2nd tier underrated star ala what memphis did with randolph/gay and surround them with the right pieces. so who are underrated stars?
Just listed them Morris TyLawson JrueHoliday Ppat Gallinari Derrick Will Dmo Wilson Chandler Kemba Walker Irving BJennings is still an option Greg Monroe - fantasy option Paul George
Young stars from crap teams like Detroit, Sactown might request a trade. They got absolutely nothing going for them.
Thats a whole different plan dude. Using our Vets and not our aquired prospects. Stop blaming Stern because if we been doing this aquisition of youngs for 2 years plus to have a deal blown out, then we're stupid. One deal and our plan failed? And not even a deal using the youngs like intended? Please. Stern screwed us once. Shame on him. But he did nothing to screw us on other situations, shame on us.
Roll with what we've got for now, develope our younger guys, throw mega bucks at Dwight next year or wait for an awesome deal to materialize. T-Will is going to have a break out season, we have PPat, Lowry & Dragic. Moriss looked awesome tonight, and Thabeet could become an athletic version of Gheorghe Dumitru Mureşan, Hill a Double Double type player, Bud can run, jump & shoot and I still haven't mentioned K Mart or Scola. Not to bad a line up if you ask me...we make playoffs, Dwight sees potential championship if he's on board the H-Town express, who knows.
Clutchfans are mad a Morey or are running low on patiences which is rightly so.... But I just want to say this. It will be very funny if we get Dwight Howard. Just from a shock factor. Is it lightly to happen.... No. But safe to say, all will be forgiven with Morey and the mediocrity basketball we've all hard to endure the past few seasons would all he worth it, just to see D12 in a Rockets uniform. I say trade everything besides D'Mo, Morris, PatPat. Hate to see Lowry go, but if we get D12, D-will just might coke south and join forces. But again, would be funny how Morey would go from zero to hero and how the city would flip from just utter sadness and madness to happy and joy. Red nation would be ecstatic. Anyways guess we can dream.
Guys I would keep trying to swing a trade for: Dwight as a rental - maybe he leaves us anyway, but there should still be a S&T return for him, and that would be one sneaky way of blowing up the roster completely (which we may need to do...) Bogut would be nice, but would still need a double-team drawing star to play next to. Cousins is a jerk and takes terrible shots for a big.....but man is he still intriguing. If I'm willing to take a big risk, I'd absolutely take one on him with McHale's tutoring. Al Jefferson would be decent (see Bogut)....but I think Kanter would have to explode onto the scene (and possibly Favors, too, since Jefferson could play next to Kanter) for Utah to trade Jefferson over to us. I have to wonder how much the Wizards would give us in return for taking Rashard Lewis's salary off their hands. They don't want to amnesty him and still pay him $40+M to not contribute. Moving Martin/Scola for him and their 2012 first rounder opens up playing time for the young guys, helps our own lottery position, and we could amnesty him to open up BUCKETs of cap space for the 2012 class. Granger's all Indiana has to sell to season ticket holders, and their acquisition of West sends a message that they aren't ready to give up on winning with him. Paul George isn't going anywhere. Nuggets aren't letting go of Ty Lawson. Bosh has been thoroughly exposed, and isn't willing to play center anyways Iguodala is terrific role player on a contender, but we've got plenty of those.
I am a fan of Kevin Love's game. He is a RFA this offseason, and Minny would match a max offer without question. So it would to some form of intervetion (i.e. K-Love wanting out) to make it happen. He is going to be a great fit in Adelman's offense, so the possibility of him demanding out probably deminished this offseason. Although he has gone on record to say he is a big fan of McHale, as well.
None of them. They don't want to come here and we don't have the assets to acquire them anyway. And we're left continuing to predict what average player Morey will take with the last pick in the lottery.
i think monta "moped/sexual assault" ellis could fit that mold. He's pretty much unstoppable on offense and is maturing as a basketball player. Unfortunately, I would not endorse him coming to HOU because of his character issues. We need people that will draw double/triple teams. Not much of them around.
