Ryan Bowen wished he could be half the athlete Chandler is. He is decent.
    2nd round sleeper.

Parsons looked to me like a more-rounded version of C-bud. He'll be better defensive but worse offensively. He moves well but unless he can start working on his jumpers I don't see any PT in his future.

I'm really excited about MM, T-will and Hill's progress though. All three look like they put in the work this season, esp. MM. Dude slimmed down and really honed his 3-game, and I think it shows with how fluid he moves and how good his shooting form is. Hill and T-will can come off the bench and be an X factor when the starters aren't cutting it, just like tonight.

Parsons was frustrating to watch, things just didn't go his way tonight. If things would of went his way he would of done very well, you can tell how hard he played and how much he tried to have a good game.

Yeah, I agree. I felt the same thing as you. I thought he would play well tonight. Maybe it's just only his first preseason game. Like Marcus Morris didnt play well in first preseason game, but he found a way to play well in second game. So I think Parsons should be fine. I expect him to play well in most games this season. He had really good career when he was at Florida. I watched some games while he played there.

I really wish we had Gasol and Nene now. We'd be the best team in the West and not some mediocre team full of players fighting for minutes.

We're not mediocre. We would've been 6th seed, and one game out from 5th, in the East last season. The Rockets are a legitimately good team, they're just not a great team.

Yeah, but we're in the West.

We would have been great with two bigs anchoring the D in the middle.

That is mediocre by definition. It would make them 14th out of 30th overall. It is not good or bad, but right in the middle.

Rockets are the dividing line between good and bad. They are stuck right in the middle.

You kidding me? Nene and Gasol are softer than Dalembert, Hill and Thabeet together on D. The only thing they bring is Offense.

Ok. I add Gasol is an adequate help defender, however he needs an enforcer in Dalembert.
Nene has never averaged a double double in his career, his career blocks are 0.9, not bad, you might think, but for a 7 footer not good.

Gasol and Nene would be an improvement over Scola and Hayes, but not by much, surely they don't intimidate the opponent

He is not a legit 7 footer. He's 6'10 3/4", depending on what you see reported. He is a PF that was moved to C, due to Denver's lack of depth.

    Edit:
His reported draft camp measurements without shoes were 6'9 1/4", with shoes at 6'10 1/4" or 6'10 3/4". The NBA profile measurements are fudged higher or lower for some players. KG is really 7'1", but is reported at 6'11". He didn't want to be classified as a C.

    I saw 6'11....ok corrected....
Thing is I forgot Pau Gasol never won a playoff game, not mention one series in Memphis. He was a second round virgin and a series virgin as well.
Am I the only one who thinks Gasol and Nene are just assets to trade for someone younger?
They wouldn't play off each other well enough

Yeah, I agree, daywalker02. I was against the Gasol and Nene deal, too. It just moved them from mediocre to low playoff seed for 2 years, and back to mediocrity again. They would have peaked within 2 years and then suck until the end of the contract.

I actually said Gasol played an important role in winning two championships with the Lakers because he played well in Phil's system and along with Bynum.
I don't think he would be too motivated to play in Houston. He would half-ass half the season like the Lakers did in regular season sometimes. And if that becomes a habit, I don't know if I would give up Scola, Martin, Dragic and young fillers for him. We'd still have to hope that Twill and Marcus might pan out.
NeNe is an unknown IMO, he is not much of a scoring threat nor is he intimidating, he's just efficient.

Pau Gaquit instead of Quitten and Hilarious Baby

That's funny. :) I never seen them referred that way.

At least we are projected to reach the low seed with just paying 6.5 mill for a center instead of 18 mill for Gasol and I don't want to know how much for NeNe.

Hilario is one part of his name and Nene means Baby in Portuguese.
Gasol has always coasted but nobody outside of Memphis knows. They think he is much better than Tracy. ;)

Apparently Hill and Bud were slow in rotation against the SPURS starters. Those two better get these things ironed out.

I was very impressed with the play-making abilities of T-Will. He was breaking down the Spurs defense by taking it to the rim and finding his teammates.

I like Jeremy Linn too, but there is a reason why he is not getting minutes over Flynn. I don't see Linn sticking around though.
