Well, the guy who made that post now says that Christensen has signed a 5 year extension with Wyoming.

You'd think if they tried to grab a coordinator from OSU, it'd be Todd Monken rather than DeForest. I would've expected Rhoades to at least try to aim high. Arkansas State hired Auburn's OC. Southern Miss at least pursued and got an interview with Alabama DC Kirby Smart before being rejected. I haven't been impressed with Rhoades' backetball hires (Todd Buchanan had a good first season but just came off of 2 awful years at HBU and the women's team looks awful this year). I'm just not sold on his coach hiring ability.

Time for a Cougar, born and bred; I want the new coach to bleed red and white, and never want to leave unless they lose all the time.;)

DeForest is the assistant head coach and arguably is higher profile, does a lot of the recruiting as well. No guarantees but an excellent candidate.

I'm hearing whispers that some of the local high school coaches are getting attention from the Coogs. Heard a couple names mentioned

I hope it's Dykes. Going to watch the TCU-LaTech game tonight with great interest.

I'm pretty sure UH is not the only high school that could beat Rice. What's your point?

Reality check -- in his tenure at UH, Sumlin did not have a winning record vs. Rice

Also, Sumlin plans on bringing Kingsbury (OC), Anderson (OL Coach), and Jackson (Strength and Conditioning Coach) to his staff. And Sumlin will add Phillips too if he isn't offered the HC job at UH.

Out of the candidates mentioned, I guess I'd prefer Dykes. Gives me a reason to watch the Poinsettia Bowl at least.

And Dykes has signed an extension with La Tech and is no longer a candidate.

So that leaves what, the two guys on staff and the Boise OC? Whoopee.

Hopefully he's also a perennial all star, what could possibly go wrong?
