Maybe Morey thinks that Dwight is going to hit the free agent market next summer after all (i.e. Orlando won't trade him), and he is saving the cap space on a hail mary chance to sign him. If Morey doesn't pick up the options of JHill and TWill in the next few days, we should have a pretty good clue that he is hoarding cap space for next summer.

With NJ about to sign Humphries to a one year $7 to $8 million contract, they won't have the room to take back both Dwight and Turkoglu's contracts, meaning the rumored offer of Lopez and picks for Dwight and Turkoglu will no longer be possible. Which was an offer that NJ already rejected. As such, it looks like Dwight will only get traded if the Lakers crater and offer up both Gasol and Bynum. (Or maybe if the Rockets offer up their best 5-6 players + the Knicks pick for Dwight and Turkoglu ;) )

It has been a tumultuous last few days for the Sacramento Kings after learning of recently-signed Chuck Hayes' heart condition that led to a voided contract, but the team may be on the verge of re-signing Samuel Dalembert. Once believed to have moved on from the defensive specialist with the signing of Hayes, recent events have led to the Kings working closer to a deal with Dalembert. Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports has the update:

"If things work out, everything structurally (with the contact), it will be Sacramento," Dalembert said in a phone interview with FOX Sports Florida from his Boca Raton, Fla., home. "It's close."

"There are no hard feelings (after not originally being wanted by Sacramento)," said Dalembert. "I think we can do something exciting. Last season, it seemed we were getting the excitement back in the city."

doesnt mean that it will work but he could be trying to get Morey to move his offer. Play SAC and HOU against each other

I think Morey is done with Dalembert. The rumors about his weight. The fact that he's a contract year player and 31 was surely what didn't help him.

FOX 26 Sports has learned the Houston Rockets remain engaged in negotiations to sign free agent center Samuel Dalembert. This information is contrary to reports from TNT and NBA.com that said the Rockets were passing on Dalembert for the moment. FOX 26 Sports

morey has to be fired bc he doesnt sign dalembert??? ARE YOU SERIOUS! he will give us maybe 1 more point 2 more rebounds and .5 more blocks than what we have already and we lost just as much offense with him .. please he may be a better player than hill but not signing him and keeping hill is NOT that big of a deal ..

If we pass up on Sammy, I have to believe Morey has a trade up his sleeve to upgrade the center position.

A couple names come to my mind. P.Gasol, Gortat, Al Jefferson?

On hoops side, free agent center Sam Dalembert's deal w/ Sacto not done (or agreed on verbally), but strong indications he could return.

IF we don't sign Salembert, and not meaning to sound like Gary Kubiak, but we're likely then going with what we got.:p Patterson, Scola, Hill, and whatever else. Maybe one of those scrub centers.

Good call by Morey I'd rather Hayes back or giving the mins to our young guys to develop.
What's the point of fighting for 8th spot? Free Hill and Thabeet!
