Thinking that Ricky Rubio will put up some decent, if unspectacular, numbers in his US debut. 10 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists (with 2-3 turnovers), and 1-2 steals a game.

All-Defensive team potential. Good-almost-great NBA starter who will make it to a few All-Star teams, and maybe 2nd-team All-NBA.

Ricky Rubio's tinman.... should be extremely lucky R2K allowed him a bit of leeway after he called him a prick.

If you had actual basketball knowledge you would be able to grasp that Rubio can't play offense if the opposing team zones on his teammates and leaves him left unguarded. The fact that you seem totally incapable of grasping this, is proof to me that you don't have much basketball knowledge at all.

If you had actual basketball knowledge you would be able to grasp that Rubio is good enough to penetrate the zone with the dribble and still get to the rim, while sucking the whole defense all the way into the cup, leaving his teammates wide open all over the floor.

    Watch it happen.

Don't brag to me about your basketball knowledge again. Because this post you just made here, proved you don't have any.

I expect Rubio to do better in the NBA than in Europe for a number of reasons. #1 the athletes in the NBA are far, far, far better and the current NBA game is set up to capitalize on athletes. As long as they run a lot, he should get assists. #2 he has wanted to play in the NBA for 3 years, he has been going through the motions in Europe.

Having said that, right now he is more Rafer Alston than Jason Kidd. I expect him to shoot a low percentage, and at times get taken advantage of by some quickers point guards. I also think Rubio... like the T-Wolves.... will really struggle in a half court game....

Overall, an average NBA point guard.

He is way above average and is closer to Jason Kidd than Rafer....IMO.

He will be a special player.

You just described Kidd to a T. However, you expect him to be less like Kidd and be like Rafer, who averaged less than 5.5 assists/game almost every season. He gets abused by quicker and stronger guards, quite a bit, instead of occasionally. He was a poor one on one defender.

Rubio isn't like Kidd. He's a cross between Rondo and rafer. The Kidd comparison comes from people that have never seen Rubio play. First they claim he is like Nash, and then when they find out he can't shoot - they claim he is like Kidd.

Well, some anyway, others like DD still insist on Nash comparisons.

People that have actually seen Rubio play, understand that he is like a mixture of Rondo and Rafer.

Jason Kidd is one of the greatest 3-point shooters of all time. Number 3 on the "makes" list behind Ray Allen and Reggie (freaking) Miller.

Good luck with that Wicky Wubio...

Kidd was considered a bad shooter for most of his career. 33% on 3s through his first 10 seasons, and the first 3 seasons was with the short 3-point line. That's sub-Rafer territory.

    2/6 from 3 is 6 points.

    3/6 from 2 is 6 points.

I'm not so sure 33% from 3 is bad...

    C'mon man.

Gotta consider the long rebound runouts and the fouls created by going inside. That's why a guy's got to be around 40% from 3 to offset 50% from 2. He's gonna get fouled a whole lot more and go to the line a whole lot more from 2 than from 3.
