That only works if you stay in an isolated ecosystem inside of which those jobs, infrastructure, money and taxable income have stay. Once you open that ecosystem up to other factors and allow many of those things to move elsewhere, everything will begin to fall in on itself. In other words, the cycle only continue ad infinitum as long as another another source of gravity does not pull it away.

That has happened now with the world economy, and the US is at least 10-15 behind China/Germany/Japan in understanding that and trying to change their economic philosophies, principles, and plans.

No problem signing off on a war that costs a trillion dollars, but we can't put our own people to work.

Again, republicans block help for Americans. Are we starting to see the pattern?

Republicans Block Key Component Of Obama Jobs Bill

Senate Republicans Thursday blocked debate on yet another portion of President Obama’s jobs bill — one that would have provided $60 billion for funding transportation projects, and seeded a new infrastructure bank.

    Profiles in courage.

BREAKING: House Republicans Again Delay Payroll Tax Cut Vote, May Resort To Procedural Gimmicks

In a stunning move, the House Republican leadership postponed a vote planned for late tonight on a two-month extension of the payroll tax holiday and unemployment benefits that passed the Senate with a huge bipartisan majority. Republicans planned to reject the Senate bill today in a gambit to force the upper chamber to come back from recess and pass a longer term extension. But it seemed House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) caucus wasn’t as united as he expected, as there was “a desire among some rank-and-file lawmakers to cast an affirmative vote rather than a negative one” favored by Boehner, Politico reports.

Now, Boehner may resort to procedural tricks to help ensure his desired outcome when the House votes on the package tomorrow. The House will most likely vote on a motion to reject the Senate bill, instead of regular up-or-down vote. That way, Republicans won’t have to outright vote against the payroll tax holiday and Boehner doesn’t risk the measure accidentally passing in case he miscounts his votes.

Seriously! Boehner is quite possibly the worst Speaker of the House we've ever had!

GOP Fractures Further Over Payroll Tax Mess

House GOP aides basically admitted this to reporters yesterday, but it bears repeating. The reason they fashioned a Rube Goldberg-esque procedural device to kill the Senate payroll tax cut compromise is that they know they’re now in political free fall on the issue. By doing things the way they did, at least vulnerable House Republicans can say that they didn’t vote against a tax cut for the middle class.

This was probably the only way House GOP leaders were ever going to get the minority of their caucus on board with the vote. And if you want proof, look no further than the handful of Republicans who defected from their leadership Tuesday. Or, better yet, vulnerable Senate Republicans who are in cycle in 2012.

Speaking of the Speaker: Randi Rhodes on his radio show today

"The guy can't control his caucus. Don't stand next to him at a urinal."

At least she could pass a bill and could control her caucus. You have to remember that Pelosi also had her own faction of democrats that did not support many of her proposals. (the blue dog dems) Yet she was able to more or less get her agenda passed with relatively little difficulty. She did what speakers are supposed to do.

We're not talking about Boehner's politics. We're talking about his inability to even properly push an agenda without having to backtrack or change his mind. Normally the speaker should be leading his caucus, in the case of Boehner his caucus is leading him all over the place. I have never seen utter incompetence when it comes to house leadership like this in history.
