Bulls on Parade is a jam. I listen to rap but honestly that Slim Thug song is garbage. Someone should take another shot at making a Texans song ha. Remix Southside
I think most current hip hop is trash. I must be white. Well, I am but I have a lot of respect for great hip hop artists, although they are few and far between. A few I respect: Saul Williams Mos Def Boots Riley B. Dolan Talib Kweli There is plenty of rock/pop trash out there too. For every Lil Wayne there is a Nickelback... hip hop is just the big kid on the block and has been for nearly two decades. With that said, I think Slim Thug is a no-talent ass clown... and his Texans song is freaking horrible. I'm not going to say a rapper is great simply because he is from my home town, sorry.
Come on man! Scarface/Geto boys? Devin the dude? UGK? DJ Screw or anyone from S.U.C? Not saying our rappers are the best, but we definitely have some real good ones.
#69 Mos Def February 17, 2008 by clander In the olden days of white culture, people used to look up to Kings and Princes. These were the people that they adored, and every night they wished and hoped that somehow they could wake up and be just like them. But with Royal Families crumbling, that role has been filled by one man: Mos Def. He is everything that white people dream about: authentic (“he’s from Brooklyn!”), funny (“he was on Chapelle show!”), artistic (have you heard “Black on Both Sides?”), an actor (“he’s in the new Gondry film!”) and not white (“I don’t see race”). He has done an amazing job of being in big budget movies (The Italian Job) and having one of his songs become a white person wedding staple (Ms. Fat Booty) but still retaining authenticity and credibility. If you find yourself in a social situation where you are asked to list your favorite actor or artist, you should always say Mos Def. This way you can name someone that everyone has heard of and you don’t look like you are trying to one up anybody. The only possible negative consequence is some white people might think “I wish I had said that first.” http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/02/17/69-mos-def/
Hmm, I don't hear much country. It's mostly classic rock, isn't it? It definitely feels like baby boomer music though. I do like the kickoff song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYHubHHxWAY&feature=related
Didn't say that was every rapper/hip hop artist I respected. But I will again say that Slim Thug is freaking flat-out horrible. Cool, I guess I can then correlate black people with everything I see on worldstarhiphop.com? Oh wait, that would be racist. Thanks.
http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/11/18/116-black-music-that-black-people-dont-listen-to-anymore/ Lol. Being half-white I gotta admit though, I do feel like the evolution of black music over the years has a lot to do with the speed with which white people come onto it.
Evolution of black music has more to do with the b****es and bling that what white people think of it. I'm a child of the 80s, so I know what good rap and hip hop is... today's artists don't even compare. Again, this can be said of the music industry as a whole, but especially about hip hop.
That's bull. It may not be hip-hop but it definitely isn't country. The main Texans song is a Country Rock thing, but the rest is mostly metal. ACDC, Metallica, Disturbed, RATM, I love that Black Betty riff they play. I may not be paying attention, but I rarely hear a country tune.
Mos Def...Lupe Fiasco.... Talib Kweli? I what kind of Texans hype song do you guys want? Something lyrical with a message?
I can honestly say I never heard the hip hop song called BULLS ON PARADE T-Shirts Who sings it? Rocket River
The shirt is pretty busy....could be a lot "cleaner." I'm no t-shirt designer, but that is not something I see a lot of people wearing. You want people to read your shirt easily at first glance...not to have to study it.
LOL, for real. I just want a smooth, tasteful jam with thoughtful, insightful lyrics that open your eyes to the day-to-day reality of trying to succeed in a world ruled by Gary Kubiak! We done moved out the AFC South ghetto, but we will NEVER forget where we came from!
