Signs still don't seem good for Hayes being at full availability.

Perhaps that can work to the Rockets rebuilding advantage if he were to rejoin. Knowing you CAN'T play him more than spot minutes. Would free up time for other players. Or it'd be decent insurance in case Thabeet gets dealt at the trade deadline & such.

Really? Can that be right? There was a time when 6'8" or 6'9" was probably the norm for a starting center, back in the 40s or 50s. This sounds suspicious.

sorry to say it but if Hayes could still play then it's pretty obvious the Kings' wouldn't of let him go.

It is very likely that it takes months to find out if he can play and when.
    See Jeff Green.

Ok.... I mean cap Flexibility. Not necessarily to pick up a free agent contract. I understand that Star VIA trade is virtually the only way the Rockets can aquire a star, but the more flexible the contracts are going into this summer, the more value they will have in either a mid season trade deadline deal, or a summer trade that takes on larger amounts of salary to upgrade the team.

Chuck Hayes at 3.7mil for one year could be very attractive in a midseason trade, as well as help out the front court depth in the case of rolled ankle or pulled hammy.

There is a team formerly known as the Supersonics that might not agree with this.

You might be right on power forward, but what center do we have that's better than him?

Elsewise, I think people are jumping to a lot of conclusions on scant information. How do we know he can't play right now? This could be an issue that he played with last season so far as we know. Obviously Sacramento is going to try to play it safe when they are handing out 4 year $20m contracts. That doesn't mean the risk (with a shorter contract) isn't acceptable for the Rockets or for Hayes.

My only reservation (besides of course deferring to the medical realities that we are not privvy to) is I want to tank, and he'd add wins to our record.

If defense is overrated, than we wouldn't need him.

chuck was there during the Jeff bonaparte era, through the rick the ruler days and now it is only right that he returns for the Mchale years or year.

One of the best defenders in the League. He makes Blake griffin look like a paler Twill.

Typical Daryl Morey discount bin shopping, trying to take advantage of Chuck for his heart condition-- which actually isn't a bad thing for either party at the rice price.

Jeff Green need do a surgery, do not know if Hayes need one. Chuck, take care yourself, heart problem is not a joke, life is more important than basketball.

    for those bashing on hayes

Despite criticism, the chuckwagon saved the ROX a** several times last season and was the only defensive presence in the paint.. but this year why would we want Hayes? he is clearly worse than both Gasols, Nene, Chandler..

Oh wait, we got none of those:mad: so wake up.. the rockets would be lucky to bring him aboard.. (after medical clearance of course)

Although I don't care to see him back here, well wishes to Chuck. Get well soon again.
