so says, Obama, after Lincoln, FDR, and LBJ. ...cause, Washington, was such a slacker. <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/TxvSjDkF7HE?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Spoiler
Obama has twice the ego of Clinton and half the intellect. If the GOP can't make him a one term President, they might as well fold their party.
except they weren't. nice use of quotations in that youtube video though http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_162-57341024/interview-with-president-obama-the-full-transcript/
Okay lets read the entire quote before agreeing with this r****ds assessment of what he said: The issue here is not gonna be a list of accomplishments. As you said yourself, Steve, you know, I would put our legislative and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two years against any president -- with the possible exceptions of Johnson, F.D.R., and Lincoln -- just in terms of what we've gotten done in modern history. But, you know, but when it comes to the economy, we've got a lot more work to do. And we're gonna keep on at it.
Exactly this. The entire Republican field is terrible (with the exception of Ron Paul). Couple that with the fact that all of the corporations have purchased Obama and he will have boatloads of more money than anybody he runs against. Not an Obama supporter anymore but fact is, nobody stands a chance (and I doubt any of those sorry excuses for candidates will be any better). We just have to accept the fact that we are ****ed (and pretty much have been since GWB).
It is really hilarious to me how your spin people just take a quote, change the meaning and how idiots like you eat it up. Kinda sad that you can't think for yourself.

I'd argue Lincoln was the first modern president. The Civil War was just that big in affecting the nation. That said, I'd definitely dispute his claim. Foreign policy wise, Wilson ( as much as I despise the man), Nixon, Reagan, and Truman were all presidents who accomplished more. And all had many legislative accomplishments, whether for good or for ill.
I wouldn't put Lincoln in the modern era, so that'd make him 3rd best. Not too shabby, but he has another term in which to go for the gold!
LOL'd @ Nixon/Reagan. Huge chunk of the rest of the world hated us during those eras. Given how our standing has gone from rock bottom (Bush) to decent, it is hard to argue that this administration has made a major impact in the foreign relations area. Top 4? Maybe not but he does have a case.
Pretty terrible list. It seems like they always call the worst Presidents the greatest. What are their criteria here? Wars during that President's administration? Blantant abuses of executive power? Expanding the role of the President? In my opinion the greatest President in the history of this nation was Grover Cleveland. It seems to me that he was the only President in the modern era to understand what the role of the executive should be.
