    NO, but...

this clippers squad may have the best starting line up in the league. Without a doubt they will be the funnest to watch.

Hells no. I admit it makes me a little giddy that the Lakers got screwed out of getting Chris Paul and now have to watch the Clippers win with him. And that the Clippers are going to drink their milkshake this season and the next few seasons to come.

BUT, the Clippers are still in a glamor city and they will soon become very very annoying with all the fairweather fans, the jock-riding announcers, the superstar calls, and the prima donna NBA players demanding trades. And, all this for a Sterling-owned team just makes it too much to bear. I like Chris Paul alright (despite him being a dick to New Orleans), I like Griffin and Billups... just why does it have to be the Clippers?

Stern is going to disband the Lakers, trade Kobe to the Clippers and then rename the LA Clippers to the LA Lakers.

You might be getting a little ahead of yourself there

They still have an absolutely horrible bench unless they decide to put 3 point guards on the floor at the same time haha.

George Karl on the Sonics always played this illegal D against us because of Hakeem. Back then the zone was banned, but Karl still did it. I hated him as a coach as much as Sloan. Stuff like that never rubs off I guess. I hate the way Chris Paul doesn't play good man defense and just gets a good rep on D because of his steals. He's a poor defender period.

Yes, the Clippers sure looked great last night. I would have enjoyed to see this guy play like this in a Rockets uniform!

I'm all for fun teams coming about, it makes the NBA fan experience better.

But I don't jump on to other team bandwagons. No way, no how. Only room for one team in my heart.

F- Donald Sterling and his clippers.

If you know anythign about his history, he's possibly the least deserving person IN THE WHOLE WORLD to have something else good happen to him.

He's basically what happens when good men do nothing.

Second favorite team is still the Thunder. Has been for awhile. Clippers will be fun to watch though.

Last time I looked, Sterling was still the owner, and they are still the Clippers, and these young players are going to want to get paid.

Should be fun watching that sad reality creep back in to the bandwagoners as the Clips begin their inexorable slide back to the reality that is their perennial cellar dwelling selves.

I am proud to say I pledged my allegiance to the Clippers when I moved here in 2007, so I voted 'no'. I'm pretty sure you can verify this through my posts that I'm no bandwagoner.

they were the underdog team in the 2006 playoffs with Sam and Cuttino- that's my main reason. Once I relocated to LA, there was no way in hell I would root for the Lakers, so I started 'following' the Clippers. I am always pulling for them not to blow it like they always do. I also know one of the assistant coaches on the team and he tells me stories of when Cuttino was on the squad.

Going to the games as a Rockets fan has always been easy and fun- their crowds are fan and family friendly. I could go down to the lower bowl and shout at my favorite players, I even met Daryl Morey in the stands once and told him how much I thought he was doing a good job as new GM.

I'm sure this will all change with the new breed of LA Clipper fan- an entitled one from across town, fed up with the Lakers and expectant of the Clippers to win it all.

Not me. I've been there, and this story always has an ugly ending.

Yes, I -- TopFive -- am a recovering Clippers fan.

I'm from Houston and have been in LA for 25 years now and was once naive and innocent like you, IBTL. But I learned the hard way that it's hard to jump on a bandwagon when the guy driving it doesn't give a $hit about getting to any particular destination.

There have been 3-4 other times in the Clippers history in LA in which they had a truly promising core of players and seemed on the cusp of breaking out and doing some real damage. But the sad fact is that in their 27 years in Los Angeles, the Clips have had only four playoff appearances -- in a league where half the teams get into the playoffs every year. And only once have they gotten past the first round. Let me repeat that: 27 years, one single appearance in the second round.

Sure, Clippers fans say those things that make them feel better every year: "This time will be different." "Lots of good young talent." etc. The fact is, a year or two from now CP3 and Griffin will be gone, moved to teams with owners that don't mind overpaying for premium talent. In return, the Clips will have a handful of lottery picks, and will use those to select "lots of good young talent" so that "this time will be different."

Enjoy your Clipper Kool-Aid, IBTL. Just don't ask me to hold your hair while you're vomiting later.

Word. The Clips have always played second fiddle to the damn Lakers in SoCal. It's always fun to go to Clipper home games. There's opportunity to sit real close to the court where tickets don't cost an arm and leg like they do at Laker games. Real glad the Clippers got CP3 and resigned DeAndre (although Houston should of made a push for him) this year. We deserve the hype.

That said, I don't buy some of the argument here that you have to be a bleed red Rockets fan only. Especially if you don't live in Houston, you're gonna be exposed to other teams naturally. I like to root for the Clippers because they have no real history w/ the Rockets and you get to hate on the Lakers even more.

I only hope Sterling can sustain this team for years to come. He is a horrible owner for sure!

DD, there's no way I was going to let you off that easy! ;-D-

As for the Clippers, hey, I bleed Rockets red, but I do watch other NBA games. Before, I wouldn't have had much interest in the Clippers, but I'll watch some of their games now. It doesn't mean I'm on a "bandwagon" or anything. I'm a Rockets fan... first, last, and always.

i've been supporting them since last year so I consider myself a fan, not a bandwagoner..just watching them play is amazing, even if they lose...the talent they have is great.
