I love Chuck. One of my all time favorite athletes. But he was in awful shape this summer. I watched just about every Rockets game last year. Chuck looks a lot worse now than he did last year with Houston. He could barely get up and down the court in the exhibitions in Kentucky.

This news got me all pissed for some reason. I want to blame someone, but there's no one to blame.

Chuck was the heart (no pun intended) and captain of this team for quite a while now. He deserves much more than some of the overpaid and pampered players.

Couldn't that simply have been a function of his heart condition (then unknown)?

I hear you. You have to check out the blue collar Chucks that cannot even play in this league and how they make their money. It could strike you worse if you are not favored with height and hype.

That might be true but most important thing is his health and how he deals with this condition. It is really hard to stay in shape, taking nothing away from a Perkins,Davis, Curry....

Sad to see this happen to Hayes. I sincerely hope he was smart enough to put a lot of his money away just in case. So that he's set for his career after basketball if this turns out to be career-ending.

I do think he has potential as a big man's coach. At the very least, the Rockets can bring him back on some partially guaranteed contract just so he can help out with Thabeet/Hill/Patterson.

Morey traded Scola, Martin and Dragic and let Chuck go in free agency.

Wouldn't it be weird if all 4 of them somehow all came back?

Why do you think he can't come back and Jeff Green can?!
I am refusing to believe that.

You can almost hear Morey sighing from 200 miles away.

nothing significant that indicated any rocket moves just one or two words expressing his sadness.

Whether we get him back or not is secondary, I just hope that his medical issues can be solved.

Where did I say he can't come back? But a heart condition is scary for an NBA player. No reason to risk it if you can.

What is the heart condition doctor?

There is no prognosis without the diagnosis.
(but you'd have to guess 2011 is out)

I thought the same. There has been no proper diagnosis.
First time anomaly, then no anomaly, then contract voided
