Why does Chandler get 65 million and Dalembert still without a contract ??

Chandler has both a left and a right foot and his hands are made of flesh, not rocks.

While these stats aren't the end all be all to describe a player, they are the best I can get for players that impacts the game beyond boxscore stats.

    PER: Chandler 18.4, Dalembert 14.1

Defensive impact: Chandler (-3.8 per 100 possessions), Dalembert(-1.6 per 100 possessions)
Note: This means that Dallas gives up 3.8 points less with Chandler than without him per 100 possessions. Same with Dalembert saving Sacramento 1.6 points over the same span.

Offensive impact: Chandler (+3.2 per 100 possessions), Dalembert(+0.4 per 100 possessions)
Note: Chandler probably gets benefit from playing with Dirk. So I wouldn't put much into this.

Dallas didnt resign Chandler b/c they want to make a run at Deron Williams and/or Dwight Howaed next year. Dallas also let Barea walk away. As of right now their only long-term commitments are Haywood and Dirk. Chandler is definitely better than Dalembert but (over his career) more injury prone. Chandler ia def getting a lt of hype based on his role with the champs but its deserved.

Chandler is better because even if he's injury prone he doesn't have a whiner/loser rep about him like what Dalambert has. Nobody wants to sign the next Eddy Curry and get an under performing big guy under contract for the next 5 years. The fact that DM is still under discussions shows to me that he is wary about the same thing, he's probably low balling dalembert because he doesn't think he will perform, unlike say the Ariza signing when it was completed rather quickly.

Because its not the answer you wanted to hear?

Seems to me the league agrees with Mr. Clutch and not someone trying to hype Sammy's name regardless of him saying he isnt doing that.

Sam is garbage, sorry its not what you wanted to hear.

I think the knicks overpaid for chandler big time. In fact, dalembert is a better offensive player and equally good defensively. Not to mention, he plays more games to top it off. Sammy is unsigned because he's asking for the same money as what chandler got and he won't get it. If i were his agent, I would take a 1 yr deal from a contender and hit the market next year.

Chandler's FG % this season so far is insane.

maybe because he only takes around 5 FG attempts per game and all are within 5 feet from the basket?

Actually only 4 per game. But he scores more than 10 ppg anyway. .708 FG % is crazy.

Dalembert's deal is two years, $13.7 million. Even better.

The way he's playing, that second year is looking golden.

He'll either be a Rocket next year or he'll be traded. That $1.5 million partial guarantee isn't looking quite as good as that $6.7 million total salary.

Funny, I was just thinking about this thread. Its quite funny to read the type of perception some people had about Sam. Just another example of how a false perception can spread like wild fire and some posters just except it for fact.

Tyson Chandler has a slight edge, though Dalembert is a better shot blocker and free throw. Chandler is a tad bit better at most things, while he's also slightly more threatening in the paint.
