I saw this idea in another thread and it probably deserves a discussion

Chuck is a self made player, man that worked his tail for our team to become one of the best defensive bigmen in this game. He deserved that money from Kings but the current situation is certainly unfair to him

So, the simple question: should DM and Les make an offer for him to keep him in this organization until he'll be clear to play the game by medical staff?

He'll sign with us definitely when he'll get healthy and we will show how accountable he is for this team and organization and he can teach our young bigmen how to defend in the post for sure

Sure, if it helps. If it disrupts chemistry, no. I think McHale's already has the coaching pinned down.

This is a business. Absolutely no reason to feel sorry for a guy who earned millions.

Does he deserve it? More than any other player out there; odds of it happening? 35/1.

Only if he is forced to retire, and if he is healthy enough to be an assistant coach.

You really think a Man with so much heart and work ethic like Hayes will accept a hand out?

    That's what that gig is.

Surely, he is going to be O.K. with meds or whatever. I would like him to play, but, sure to be on the sidelines would be great, but seems like the coaching thing is covered. What an amazing player for his size. All the best.

Chuck would be a great assistant coach if he is no longer able to play.

This is reminiscent of people lobbying for Adelman to pick up ex-Rockets as assistants: Elie in particular. Problem was that Adelman had no connection to Elie, although I think we acquired him from Portland... was Adelman there at that time?

It wouldn't be a hand out Chuck was a tremendous 1 on 1 defender as well as a great team defender. His rotations were always on point. I'm sure any coaching staff in the NBA could use chuck's defensive acumen.

Chuck needs to be with the Rockets in whatever capacity he is able to contribute at.
