Any tips on buying dress shoes? I bought a pair of johnston & murphy the other day. Haven't worn it yet but read how these 100 dollar shoes don't last a long time. When I looked the more expensive brands..they are all the classic wing toe. Nothing modern.

Aldo is where I buy mine. No Prada or Gucci here

I've always bought Kenneth Coles. They are modern and they have sales all the time. Wearing them everyday, I think they would probably last 2 years with no problems.

I buy J&M's high end stuff. They are very good quality and last for a long time.

You can spot cheap dress shoes a mile away -- don't skimp on those -- it's obvious.

Get a pair of Allen Edmonds. They'll last 5+ years.

I bought me 4 pairs of shoes at JM and they last a long time. I like to rotate them in order to last longer. They are what I wear for work. The sheepskin interior are comfortable. Sign up for their email. They have pretty good deals that come to my inbox too.

    I bought this shoe also.

Another vote for Allen Edmonds - not necessarily the most comfortable, but they're the best looking shoes out there. I replaced the insole in my burgundy ones.

Brunomagli makes excellent dress shoes, but I've yet to pull the trigger on $425 shoes at Nordie's.

I wear Alden, Allen Edmonds, and Crockett & Jones. For italian styles, I like the offerings from To Boot New York, Santoni, Testoni, and Ferragamo.

i was given 2 brand new pairs of 'tods' - italian shoes - they are like $400 which is about $275 more than im willing to spend on a pair of shoes, but they are pretty comfy and nice. easily the most quality, well made shoes ive ever worn. make me look like successful douchebag (until they see me get in my ford focus).
