i'm pretty sure if paul pierce pulled out a gun and shot amare in the face during the opening christmas day game that tommy heinsohn would say that it's just part of the game.

while presumably complaining about the handcheck on pierce the refs missed on the other end.

You know i was again the RA sacking because he is a HOF coach and one of the greatest offensive coaches of alltime, but i'm starting to be sold on KM. You can see that he likes to use to see alot of primeter ball reversals and have the have guys like Hill comeout to set picks and then dive towards the basket off the ball to use their speed against the less agile bigs.

thats not the point. the point is that you claim that because it happened once, then that is "today's NBA" thats not true. I don't think we need these dumb rules about no hand checking and no bench clearing. Fights make the NBA interesting. If you don't think thats true, go look at NBA fights on youtube and see how many views they have.

The jury is still out on McHale. Although i do like his positive communication with the players.

I was commenting on the basketball PLAYER McHale, not the coach.

Such negativity on the GARM at the moment. :(

When I lived in LA I was shopping around to get LASIK. One guy in Beverly Hills was considerably more expensive AND he suggested not getting LASIK, and he tried to sell me on a procedure he said was much more invasive, and much more painful, but he promised better results.

As I walked out of his office I was about to give up on the whole idea when I saw Kurt Rambis' photo on the wall, without glasses.

    And I booked an appointment...

Too early to tell. The one thing that does concern me a bit, is the comment by Worrell/Bullard made during this first game, that McHale is "teaching" players to use the forearm. And then they showed him talking to the referees about it after a foul. The players don't need to develop habits that will lead to foul troubles. If it's a borderline issue/call, I'm not sure it's worth infusing into the players minds/games. Those are just the kind of calls that can be made to decide games... and we know how many calls the Rockets usually get.

We've got hockey for that. I don't have any desire to go back to watching a league of guys forgetting they were playing basketball so they can take some swings at each other.

That was an unsporting, dangerous, and dirty play. I'm glad players who do that get tossed nowadays.

So you are ok with it in hockey but not in basketball?
