Didn't he just get a new contract for this year for 9 mill?

I wonder if we could get him for cheap since the Celts are in win now. He would definitely be a future upgrade at sf, plus it would help us get some ping pong balls :)

Are teams even allowed to trade injured players? I don't think our medical team would approve. He'd definitely be a huge upgrade next season though.

An Aortic Aneurysm is extremely serious but treatable (if there are no other complications). The Celtics gave up a significant member of their tight-knit core for Green, I doubt he gets flipped so easily. Isn't he part of their future too?

Well yes and no. They are shopping Rondo, so obviously they want to win now with their core, and I think this is their year is their last chance.

ESPNBoston reporting Green's recently-signed one-year, $9 million deal is expected to be voided and Boston would retain his rights.

Wow that majorly sucks... but I also wasn't aware he was getting paid that much. Was he not eligible for insurance?

I guess this gives the team some cap room for this season. I wish we could've done that for our former 2 superstars.

Good thing Green's medical exam caught the problem. Often the first symptom of an aortic aneurysm is when the person keels over dead.

I didnt watch much but my impression was that he was a none factor for them, hopefully in the future he will be an important piece for them.

Woah. That seems serious. A missed season is nothing compared to what might have been. May he recover and return.

Question for the MDs around here, but it seems like basketballers seem to be more afflicted by congenital heart issues than the general population. Is this true or is it just availability bias as NBA players with heart issues get more attention than the average person?

Sucks cause now they don't have a center.
