Adrian Wojnarowski WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski After an aortic aneurysm was discovered, forward Jeff Green will have surgery and miss the 2011-'12 season, Celtics say. Adrian Wojnarowski WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski Celtics doctors say that Jeff Green can resume his career next season, according to a team statement. 1 minute ago Ouch.. Scary stuff, hope he will be okay such a great young talent that was just starting to emerge.
I wonder if we could get him for cheap since the Celts are in win now. He would definitely be a future upgrade at sf, plus it would help us get some ping pong balls
Are teams even allowed to trade injured players? I don't think our medical team would approve. He'd definitely be a huge upgrade next season though.
An Aortic Aneurysm is extremely serious but treatable (if there are no other complications). The Celtics gave up a significant member of their tight-knit core for Green, I doubt he gets flipped so easily. Isn't he part of their future too?
Well yes and no. They are shopping Rondo, so obviously they want to win now with their core, and I think this is their year is their last chance.

Wow that majorly sucks... but I also wasn't aware he was getting paid that much. Was he not eligible for insurance? I guess this gives the team some cap room for this season. I wish we could've done that for our former 2 superstars.
LarryCoon Larry Coon Good thing Green's medical exam caught the problem. Often the first symptom of an aortic aneurysm is when the person keels over dead.
Man he is lucky they discovered it now. Hope he gets well soon. But foir the C's it is terrible. he would have been a very if not the most important piece.
I didnt watch much but my impression was that he was a none factor for them, hopefully in the future he will be an important piece for them.
Woah. That seems serious. A missed season is nothing compared to what might have been. May he recover and return.
Question for the MDs around here, but it seems like basketballers seem to be more afflicted by congenital heart issues than the general population. Is this true or is it just availability bias as NBA players with heart issues get more attention than the average person?
