Behind the fence is a creek-bed, currently dry. They tossed most of the slats into the creek-bed, and I can go down and get them.

Neighbors saw who it was, and one of the neighbor teenagers thinks he knows who it is- some poor homeless teenage kid and his meth-head early-20s girlfriend. Pretty rare to be walking around my hood.

I'm not really concerned with repair, but what can I do to prevent it in the future? Cameras, razor wire, etc?

Set up some motion sensor flood lights.

It will be more sightly then making your home look like a prison with razr wire.

I have a mastiff. Unfortunately, it's too cold to leave him out 24/7 up here in Ft Worth.

There's actually a motion sensor activated light in that area. Problem is that it's fairly secluded right there 24/7. There's a nice big swath of my property behind the fence, between the fence and the creek. I could move
The fence but I'm worried about erosion.

What else? Razor wire on the ground? Bear traps? Punji sticks? Predator-style traps?

If you put a few more motion sensor lights up that could help, if they went on it would more than likely alert your dog, waking you up.

Put some signs on the fence saying trespassers will be shot. Doesn't have to be true but if anyone hears your door open they will book it.

use bolts/washers instead of nails, get a chow, and/or a crossbow should do it.

I'm sorry but if they had the time and balls to do all that.. they had to be ****ed up. Especially if all they did was throw the planks below. (would be a little different than if someone was stealing the wood, which I guess I could see)
