I agree that you can't teach aggression and that selfish mentality that all the hot shots have to really be a killer on the court. Like i said ,he is more of 2nd/3rd option Luol Deng type. No no one pick or someone you project to be like a kobe top scorer in the nba would have this issue : http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/217614/Harrison_Barnes_Struggling_To_Score_Off_The_Dribble
Luol Deng's a great comparison. I saw the guy play in person in college, and he was just on another level athletically compared to everyone around him, even on his team. I think whichever team drafts Barnes would be thrilled to have him turn into a Luol Deng; I would call that a success for him.
Being good is different from being filled with superstars. Every draft has potential to be 1996, I think people have some vague notion that if a draft is deep you'll have Lebrons and Wades and Duncans in the draft. All stars is still different from franchise players. If you look at the boxscore than Wall was no different from Rose, however Rose already showed a deep understanding of the game even in his rookie year, while Wall just looked lost on the court. Being a starter on a crap team is different from being a decent NBA player. Guys like DH were starting on day 1, but it took a couple of years before he became a really good player. Yeah, and that's why very few rookies dominate in their rookie year. The average NBA player is better than 99% of the draftees coming in, most of these guys have never played against organized competition before and just dominated based on their athletic gifts. I'm excited about him because he's one guy we can realistically get, and guards have the easiest time becoming good in the NBA, big men have the longest development period. I'm always cautiously optimistic when it comes to big men because all of them look so good coming into the league and then lay a big fat goose egg when they get to the NBA. Drummond said it himself, our own THabeet was blocking everything when he went to play with these guys, and he's a scrub in the NBA.
You've got three types of drafts to get excited about: -Franchise Super-Stud (LeBron, Duncan): the type where teams are openly, shamlessly tanking to try and nab the anointed one. -Deep: 2012. Stars to Starters to be found all over the first round. -Both: 1984, 1996
Yeah, guy can really shoot and has good basketball IQ. He was high above all others in American U-19 team this year.
Perry Jones ! But he needs to improve his motor but overall he could be the Grand Prize in the 2012 draft
