He has the AB(Brooks) syndrome. Demand the ball at top of they key - Bounce bounce bounce bounce, run out the time clock, order every one around then make the worst play possible. Either jack up a 3 or no chance contested jumper, or pass it to a guy when the buzzer is about to tick. That was last seasons AB summed up and thats what T-Will will be like this season.

He is cancer. Get him off this team.

Clutch has said that so far in camp he is just blowing by people, no one can stay in front of him.

That would be a valid insult, If that was anywhere close to how he plays basketball.

If anything, Terrence Williams is TOO unselfish and should shoot a hell of a lot more than he does. It would be refreshing to see him focus on scoring and getting himself to the free throw line...

He also said that he is not shooting all that well from outside.

Getting by people is ok, but you have to be able to finish and not turn it over....

He has ALWAYS been able to get by people, he needs to work on other aspects.

    Yeah.

I admit T-Will's personality leads people to think he's an idiot. But he's an extremely smart basketball player who just needs an attitude adjustment.

He has great court vision and playmaking abilities. You almost never see these two qualities exhibited without being labeled as a smart basketball player.

I appreciate that but hope I didn't word it like that ... I've only seen a few days of scrimmage action, and that's at the tail end. But he looks very explosive... looks great attacking the basket. There was one play he drove on Budinger and just moved him ... Chase was completely outmatched strength-wise (though that's not saying a whole lot).

I think I've seen him take 3 threes though in scrimmage action and he missed them all.

I don't see T-Will as an All-Star soon... I'd love to be wrong, but first step (and a big one) is making the rotation. He has a ways to go offensively, though he has great court vision. We also know he can lash out when things don't go his way. What I'm really hoping to see is this guy gain confidence on defense and that becomes his calling card. He is little small for a three, could be a strong two and if he was a one, good night -- that would be phenomenal given his speed and how tall, strong and fit he is.

Right now I'm just crossing my fingers that he can find a way to display his talents on this level under McHale and that he really just couldn't get into Adelman's rotation because Rick was already comfortable with Battier/Chase/Lee.

    Clutch,

Knowing Adelman and how he liked a more share the ball and move off of it type of offense, what have you seen from McHale, is he running the same offense, more inside out, more iso?

And if he is mixing it up, does that help TWill as his game seems more suited to one which allows individual abilities to shine.

    Thanks in advance.

This seems like one of those things where he needs a coach that could really get through to him, and when that does happen he takes off.

Some sanity in a thread that's absurdly optimistic as well as way too early. I'm still waiting for Williams to show us in a Rockets uniform that he deserves to be on the court. He did not do that last season. Not at all. What he did in D-League and for another team in limited minutes doesn't impress me in the least. He isn't a guy we traded for that had a couple of soild seasons under his belt. Far from it. I hope this cat gets his act together and finally taps his talent, but that is so far from a sure thing at this point that a good telescope would be needed to spot it, one without a rose colored lens.

Hey, I want something to get excited about as much as the next guy, especially given how we we've been raped by a corrupt league front office since the end of the lockout. I just want to see some evidence that backs up some of what I'm reading here. Up until now, it amounts to noise, and not much else. Let's see what Williams and the rest of the remaining team can do when it counts. Hopefully, Morey has a move or two left to uncork before the real games. I'm not holding my breath. Currently, we're a doormat that Stern and company are using to scrap the crap off their shoes before attending to "real" business. Morey is as ticked off about that as I am and the rest of us are. Something tells me he's not counting on Williams to be an All Star within two years. Neither should we, and perhaps we'll be pleasantly surprised.

I was just responding to the part about getting to the rim. TWill has a lot to prove to be sure. It will be double hard for him considering how hard it will be to take minutes from Lee or Martin at the 2 and I'm not sure the 3 spot is ideal for him. Especially since Bud played well as a starter last season and the Rockets just invested a lottery pick on Morris who they have said they invision as a 3.

I do think TWill is the most physically gifted player on the Rockets and with his passing ability as well as his ability to play defense, if he could brake thru and start playing up to his potential we could have a superstar caliber player. Of course there is that word "potential". Players with un-recognized potential have probably getten more coaches fired than anything

He has elite athleticism for sure, but I don't see Superstar in him because in order to do that he would have to dominate the ball, and is not a good enough shooter to do that.

I agree with Clutch that if he could play the PG position, he would BEAST there....imagine him being able to post up other PGs?

Huge advantage, but he has to protect the ball a little more.

I hope he gets a consistent 20+ minutes per game...and would be willing to move KMart to clear playing time for him.......

Like it or not, your boy Budinger will be the first one out if Williams shows as much as a pulse. Matter of fact, he is probably out the door either way. Notice how Mchale keeps emphasizing toughness and defense? Nail in the coffin. Bud to Twolves, guaranteed.

Yes he did. In his rookie season. As a matter of fact, in the last 2 months of his rookie season, he was avg. 14pts, 7rbds, 6asst., shooting 44% and 2TO a game.

I honestly wouldn't want to move Kmart until we knew what we were getting with twill. Him playing pg is an intriguing idea though.

I really dont see a problem with him at the three though, especially off the bench. I think he's more suited to the 2, but he's only an inch or so shorter than bud, and I would say he's stronger/quicker.

I really would like to see him log some minutes at the 1 though, at least in the preseason.
