What EVIDENCE do we have that Morey is doing a great/good job?

I love how nobody responds to this question.
Why are you defending a gm who has the rockets mired in mediocrity?

It probably wouldn't be any different but at least the Rockets would have a chance with the current moves their making their stuck in limbo

We are 2 years removed from having two superstars completely break down. How do you honestly expect the team to look? Kevin Martin was brought in through a blockbuster trade to complement Yao, who retired earlier this year. If it weren't for impatient idiots like you, no one would be asking this question.

How can anyone say Morey has a bad draft record? That is just idiotic. The way he dealt Tmac at the time was an unbelievable trade. If the Knicks hadn't signed Amare (who had a career year) we would have been gifted amazing picks( we still have their pick this year) + Kmart + the 8th pick in the last draft in Jordan Hill (still has upside) for a corpse of a player . This guy traded Vassilis Spanoulis for Scola are you kidding me?

So now you change your tune.... Why propose trading Kevin Martin and Scola for late picks if you couldn't move up with them? You just said it wouldn't be any different. So I guess you don't support the notion you were behind 15 minutes ago....

Through 9 pages I don't see much of the "Evident that Morey is a good/great GM”. However, I do see a lot of “ It is not his fault”
    Go figure.

It feels as if Morey is paying people to say positive things about him as a GM in this post. Morey has done a 50% job, he continues to get rid of the poor decisions that he makes and gets us hyped over the new players he brings in.

Remember the excitment for getting Jordan Hill a lottery pick, how has that worked out. It felels as if we continued to get middle of the road players and win 42 games. Now imagine how Scola and Martin feel, our 2 best offensive and worst defensive players feel.

All we ask Les is that he moves on from Morey if we are unable to get a superstar in the next 2 years.

Never changed my tune, Morey has proved he can't get it done, I want morey to be fired.

However I do believe that Morey would be able to pick a good player if we had a top 5 pick. Your right Morey would probably not be capable of trading 2 mid to low first round picks and move up, he has shown he is incapable of that but in this draft those mid to late draft picks can be very valuable, I wouldn't mind an Austin Rivers or Kidd Gilchrist

We would of been gifted amazing picks everybody knew that the knicks would sign Amare at the least, they almost got Lebron.

If he wasn't doing a good job, he'd be fired already.

We got Jordan Hill and Martin in the same deal.... Martin was supposed to complement Yao.... Yao officially retired 4 months ago...... Can we be any less patient? What did you really expect?

The truth is he has yet to get a legit player to sign as a free agent. And while he has upgraded the overall talent of the team, he has yet to upgrade the top end of the rotation. I love Scola and Lowry, my two favorite Rockets since Dream, but they are not the level you can build around. He has yet to add someoneto this team that they can build around and thats what he keeps telling us he is making all these other trades for. Guess what, he ain't done it yet and all he has done is constantly mess with the chemistry of the team.

    An overrated GM.

He is an average GM that has produced average results.

    Nothing more, nothing less.

Name a GM you think would have gotten a better results with a team built around two stars whose careers went kaput within a year of one another.

None of the Morey detractors in this thread have named a better alternative.

Yea screw Morey. Home come he didn't trade Mcgrady's corpse for Dwade and Lebron! Any idiot gm could have pulled that off.

Seeing as how injury prone Yao and Tracy were when we were trying to build around them, he wasn't exactly able bring in much more talent (willing to take pay cuts) because they were always injured. They didn't dominate as well as Kobe and Shaq did because Tracy's motivation was suspect at times and Yao had bad luck with major injuries.

We're just now finally getting out of the Yao/Tmac era, so anything other than a few years in the bottom dwellers would do nothing but good to be able to draft talent with the lottery but sadly we have an owner more convinced in making money while trying to build a better team.
