Umm, why not wait until we're so good that that pick would have been a 25+ pick?

Morey's mouth is doing the same thing it used to do, but the direction of this team couldn't look any more different...

No reason to pick him up. Too old to be around in a few years, not good enough to make much of a diffenece, other than worsening our draft position. Dont sign.

As homer as it sounds, that team might since that front court is arguably the best in the West.

Goodness.. that's a squad! I hope the Hornets become the new laughing stock of the NBA for years to come... Stern should get what he deserves!

Outside shot but at least it's better than competing for the 14th pick in the draft.

I think few people including yourself would have said that at this time last season. With all of Tyson's injury issues and teams trying to dump his salary it's hArd to argue he was any better than Sam. Sam is just as good of a rebounder and shot blocker if not a little better. Add that to the fa t that teams have not been able to rely on Tyson to play a full season where Sam has had no issues and I tink Sam is just as good.

Dalembert is 30yo. If Morey is able to sign him to a 4yr contract that teams can put on their bench it mightn't be such a bad idea. If a team needs to trade a young center for financial reasons, for eg Asik taking the QO next year. Dalembert at the right price could become a valuable as a trade asset.

I don't understand your cynicism here, leebigez.

I said CONTEND for a WCF. Meaning, given the right circumstances, the Rockets could make it down to the final 2 teams in the West. It could be that two "better" teams somehow get matched up against one another in the second round, so the Rockets don't even need to be one of the two best teams in the West for this to be a perfectly valid statement.

Also, I would have expected further roster upgrades to bring in a quality wing player.

That my statement is somehow ridiculous to you befuddles me.

It is ridiculous with those moves the rockets are still not on the same level as the Lakers, Mavs, Thunder,Clippers, spurs or memphis

    HUH?

You wouldn't know any of that unless YOU PLAYED THEM. Did you see Memphis coming? You bring up the Clippers who were 10 games UNDER 500 and just because they got CP3 they are WCF capable?

If you can anoint the Clips why not us?

I think you should go back and read my posts about Chandler, I was very much excited about him last year and the year before, always thought he would be the perfect type of complimentary center.

You can't say that the two of them are similar just because they get similar rebounding and shotblocking numbers. Chandler was the heart and soul of the defense on the Mavs. He coordinated the defense, truly protected the rim, and made his teammates better defenders. Granted, it was a contract year and he just happened to be in the right situation, meaning that NY is essentially paying Chandler for winning a ring in Dallas. But has Dalembert ever done anything similar? He can rebound, defend the post adequately, and chase down a few easy blocks, but never has had the same impact that Chandler did last season.

Thanks. I appreciate the good info. And from this I expect there to be an SnT if a deal is to be done.

Any thoughts on any possible Scola/JSmith scenaria?
