Amazing, cutting edge 2 years ago and now they're starting to look antiquated next to all the thin - giant Android phones. I'm guessing the iPhone 5 will have a much larger screen.
The iphone 5 should have a 4 inch screen and no hardware buttons. Android phones are honestly getting too big... Outside of the huge bezels and small screens though, iPhones still look better.
read an article around the release of iphone 4s that people inside apple wanted to have a bigger screen for awhile now, but jobs refused. he didnt like the idea of "fragmenting" the phones. meaning, having numerous phones with different sizes, wanted everything to stay uniform. who knows, i'd imagine iphone 5 will get a true makeover and prob include a bigger screen
It makes sense. And apps looks better because they are created with a specific resolution in mind. But 3.5 is just too small.
phones in general are getting too big. it's like pulling a check book out of your pocket. I'm still using an old nokia e71 because I hate having to carry around a big phone. I could care less what apps and games it has.
I fell out with them around the iPhone 4. It just became more of the same. Nothing new, nothing special. Siri is comical, but realistically the other two platforms already had the bulk of what Siri does. Design-wise, it didn't really evolve enough because Apple solely controls the platform. With WP7 and Android companies like HTC, Samsung and such compete, retool, redesign and come up with some really interesting stuff. With Apple, you get the same product in the same package, it isn't tailored, and it sort of goes against the whole "Think Different" apple mantra. How can I think any different when I have the exact same phone as everyone else, and it is far from tailored to my likes and dislikes? It's a farce now.
I've got an e71x. I like they keyboard and all-metal build. But it's time for a change. I'll probably get the Galaxy Nexus, as big as it is.
Only in screen size. The outer design is still more unique than just about any of the other major brands out there. The Lumia being another IMO.
I've tried the galaxy and other HTC phones and to me it just is not practical. Not to mention the moment you accidentally drop it, the screen cracks into an oblivion. I've thrown my e71 at the floor and walls and it's still in great shape. And I love nokias because of the all metal feel.
Still rockin my HD2. Have it hacked running android. I really don't have a problem with a big phone...
My friend loves his (he went WP7). I love HTC products, they just feel like they are built better than most of what's out there. Don't get me wrong, I am glad I have my focus, but there are times I wonder what it would be like if I went with the titan...
Haha, yeah you're right. Htc products do seem built better, at least more durable it seems. I've had mine for over a year and I can't tell you how many times I've dropped it. Screen hasnt cracked or anything, it honestly looks near mint condition. Htc FTW lol
No kidding. I use my e71x without a case and have dropped it countless times. It still runs like a champ. I'm tempted to wait for the Nokia Windows Phone in January.
All fanboyism aside, I think the Nokia Lumia 800 is the best looking phone right now. The beauty of the Android and Windows Phone platforms is they come in all different shapes and sizes. For instance the new HTC Titan is massive, while the HTC Arrive has a full keyboard and is much smaller in size. This is the same case with Android of course. I travel a lot and am on my phone constantly keeping in touch, so I love a larger screen. I carry two phones because I travel a lot. I have the HTC Arrive on Sprint which I've had since March, and it doesn't even have a scratch on it... and I've never used a case. I also have a Samsung Focus unlocked on T-Mobile that I picked up on Craigslist. The Samsung of course has the beautiful AMOLED screen, but the case of the phone is plastic and scratches easily, while my HTC arrive is aluminum and rubber... the build quality just doesn't compare. A $4 molded gel case fixes the issue with the Focus, but it is no longer as thin as it once was... they should have gone with aluminum on them in my opinion. The same can be said for the Focus S vs the Titan. I went with a co-worker as he decided on which one to get, again while the screen on the Focus S is better than that of the Titan, the build quality is just higher on the HTC, so he went with it instead.
