One thing that struck me as weird in a couple of the recent debates was Rick Perry talking about how Communist China was going to end up on the "ash heap of history" like the Soviet Union. Seems ironic since Rick Perry is much more likely to end up on the ash heap of Republican primaries in the very near future.
"Those who are going to be over 21 on November 12th, I ask for your support. Those who won’t be, just work hard. Because you’re... counting on us."
So....I think this book just published recounting gay se-XXX-capades with Rick Perry counts as bad news...for Rick Perry....: http://gawker.com/5868489/all-your-rick-perry-gay-sex-rumors-collected-in-one-handy-book ...or does it?
I hate stuff like this, even though there's a certain satisfaction to be had by exposing homophobes as closeted hypocrites. Nobody who's considering voting for Perry is going to be swayed by stuff like this, and in fact, I suspect it will only strengthen their support for him. After all, isn't this just more proof that the liberals and mainstream media want to persecute good, God-fearing Christians? And nothing makes people more intractable in their wrong-headed beliefs (in this case, that Perry would make a good President) that a persecution complex. So ultimately, rumors like this are counterproductive. The real issue is that Perry has neither the intellect nor the education to be President. The debates have shown this, and that's what anyone working to prevent a Perry Presidency should focus on. Anything else is a waste of time.
He just compared himself to Tim Tebow tonight. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/New-bNUm4Yw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Even the hyprocisy angle is a tiresome excuse for propaganda that only further scandalizes non-traditional life choices and stigmatizes minority social groups. The intolerant faction of the majority does not respond with contrition or acceptance, but by raising the standards for social membership and pushing the suppressed group further into the shadows; even adding the offending individual's specific transgressions to the existing stereotype. Sickening as it sounds at the end of the day you still have to convince these people to trust and like you, or at least be ashamed of their behavior, not yours.
Well, that might be fair. On the surface they: * have a similar if not identical faith * have a similar if not identical quality of education * have a similar if not identical grasp of major political topics of the day * may throw very similar if not identical footballs to wideouts. Wobbly and off-target 90% of the time. * should probably be back on the sidelines. (AAAAy--OOOO!)
I don't think this has anything to do with Perry's Presidential campaign, which has been on life support for months, it's basically a personal thing for Maxey to out Perry just like the Larry Craig's and Ted Haggard's of the universe.
More bad news for Rick Perry - he's retired: http://blog.chron.com/rickperry/2011/12/perry-double-dips-state-salary-and-pension/ In order to exploit a loophole that allows him to collect his state pension payment on top of his salary. Classy move, from a true class act.
I doubt it's true, I think he's just being attacked for the stupid **** he has said. But if it is that's pathetic... He was a cheerleader so who knows.
Rick Perry is retired. He is double dipping in state funds by collecting a $92,000/yr state pension in addition to his salary. Is this the guy, the republicans, want to solve out of control retirement spending and Ponzi schemes. (Social Security/Federal pensions)? http://www.dallasnews.com/news/poli...ect-extra-state-benefits-on-top-of-salary.ece
Firefighters, police officers, etc all take advantage of this but I know a police officer who was cut off
