So, how much could the Rox offer on a one-year deal?

Realistically I would say anywhere between $7 million and $9 million for one year. You have to think about job security from the players stand point as well. Players would be willing to sign a 3 year ~$15 million but if you are offering a one year deal you have to increase that because the player will have to think about next year as well.

Because Cousins needs adult supervision? And because Chuck has Cousins' ear?

Now, as to overpaying SD. No, please. What, are we in a race for #8?

Does realistically mean what the Rox can offer based on salary commitments vis a vis the CBA or based on subjective issues?

Sign Dalambert he is better than any post player on our team besides Luis Scola and he is 7 feet. We have no center he is a center bingo morey! All these developing guys at center suck bottom line.

We can easily offer him a contract like that. We still have the amnesty option to use on Thabeet if necessary but I don't think that will be needed if we sign him to a 1-2 year deal max (especially if we have a TEAM option in 2012).

He's quick center also. not slow Plays like a PF also. Will be a Good Pick up. We got nothing really to loose and he wanted to come here he said. Hopefully the offer is fair and he signs.

I was really hoping to trade for a center like Al Jefferson or Chris Kaman.

This year is necessary for us to get to the playoffs, we're a young team but we need to see progress also in terms of results. Sign Dalembert and we're a playoff team.

For me doesn't matter if we have to give him 7-8 per year, he can have an impact on this team, a career year, he fits nicely and can find the affection, confidence and motivation. If we make the playoffs and he contributes, nobody will call him overpaid for 7-8 a year. Look at the centers market.

Sometimes the place can do much good for a player, I think in Tyson Chandler, who didn't have so different stats to Samuel's during his career:

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/tyson_chandler/career_stats.html7

Now it looks like they are two completely different players, but really they aren't. The place; bring him here and his reputation can go through the roof. He really can help us. Also to Hasheem, the starting spot is too much pressure for him right now but behind a good veteran center like Samuel can play more loose and improve with the games.

Also we need more veterans to the team, we're extremely young and he's said to be also a great teammate. He's a great fit at the best moment of his career.

That would be right at his career average for 30 minutes of play. Obviously doable.

He can protect the paint and change shots and grab us rebounds. Whats not to like?

Most people, myself included, had high expectations going into this offseason.

Morey did his magic but an unprecedented veto drastically changed our future, for the worst.
