or reunite martin and scola with battier...and acquire Chris Bosh If we are tanking that would be the way id do it...guarantee Miami doesn't turn that deal down. that would be if we are tanking for the 2012 draft pick
Houston - Bud, Flynn or Dragic Sacramento - Whiteside Houston - Martin, Cousin Minnesota - Johnson, Randolph +pick Houston - Scola New Jersey - pick c - Whiteside / Randolph pf - Pat / Hill sf - Johnson / Morris sg - Lee / Will pg - Lowry / Dragic or Flynn
I realize we all hate his guts, but would anyone else be interested in buying low on a now healthy Mehmet Okur? He's an expiring contract...
I'm also thinking that Morey is looking at Utah ... Al Jefferson could be the target. Al knows Kevin McHale very good anyway. We could trade straight up with Utah, but the Pacers are the 3rd trading partner in this proposal: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=c97pbqm Starting line-up: PG: Lowry/Dragic/Flynn SG: Lee/T-Will/Price SF: Morris/Posey/Parsons PF: Scola/Patt C: Jefferson/Hill/Cousin Posey and Price are expiring contracts and we are getting rid of Thabeet. Scola doesn't need to be traded to Utah, because they'll still have Favors and Milsap at PF. I think we could still trade some players if needed, such as Flynn, Dragic or Scola.
TheRealC_Los Carlos Douglas Jr. Told #Bulls engaged in prelimenarily sign-&-trade talks with #Wizards for Nick Young, but WAS asked that Taj Gibson or Omer Asik be included 8 Dec Trade the Bulls what they think Asik is worth.
geofflepper Geoff Lepper I feel bad for pointing out David Lee's opposing PF PER of 20.1 while forgetting to mention Andris Biedrins' opposing C PER of 20.3. #GSW
At this point, Bosh wouldn't be that bad now that his value is at an all time low and the only way we can stars to trade for one. Rockets-Heat-Jazz trade Rockets trade: Scola, Martin, Bud, Dragic, Flynn, Thabeet, 2012 NY pick, 2013 or 2014 option 1st rd pick Get: Bosh, Jefferson Heat trade: Bosh Get: Scola, Dragic, raja, Thabeet, 2012 1st rd NY pick, 2013 or 2014 Jazz 2nd rd pick option (top-40 protected in 2013, 35-protected in 2014) Jazz trade: Jefferson, Bell Get: Martin, Flynn, Bud, Hou 2013 or 14 1st rd pick (top-10 protected in 13, top-7 in 14) Rockets Lowry/ Lin Lee/T-will Morris/ Parsons Bosh/Patterson Jefferson Heat Chamlers/ Dragic Wade/ Bell James/ Battier/ Jones Scola/ Haslem/ Anthony/ Pittman/ Thabeet Jazz Harris/Flynn Martin/ Burks Hayward/ Bud Millsap/ Favors Kanter
Varejao for Thabeet, Courtney Lee, conditional 2nd round pick He is pretty much a floppier, 6'11' version of Hayes. I think he is severely underrated. He plays great defense, has a motor that rivals Scola's and his salary is not so bad in light of recent overbloated contracts. For those that love Asik, Varejao is what he would be if he reached his potential. He's one of those guys you would hate to play against but love to have on your team. Cavs do it to get their starting SG, save money, and draw in the tanzanian crowd.
We should ask for the Warriors pick that the Jazz own as well, and throw in a Budinger type player if necessary. Jazz receive the Warriors' 2012 first-round pick, via Nets (Marcus Williams trade) (top 7 protected in 2012 and 2013, top 6 protected in 2014. If not received by 2014, Jazz will instead receive Warriors' 2014 and 2016 second round picks) (Deron Williams trade 02-24-11) I can see that pick being a 10ish pick (like the Warriors had last year). Add the Rockets likely lottery pick, and the Knicks first round pick (even though probably not lottery), that's three first rounders, which with the other assets on the team, Morey might be able to move way up in the draft, or at least have 3 solid picks in a deep draft.
Why don't we just trade with the Lakers ourselves? Lakers still need a PG and they were willing to give up Gasol a week ago. How about: Lowry + Scola + fillers (some combo of Hill, Budy, etc.) for Gasol + Barnes Lakers get a PG and a PF to replace Odom. They can have assorted promising players too. We get Gasol and a SF who can start. Lakers might need to get a pick, too. We give up Lowry and give the reins to Dragic with Flynn as a backup. If they can't cut it, then we have many PGs in the 2012 draft.
Build for the future with an all PF team and according to Hollinger, this should get us a 2012 top 3 pick. Minny get's their starting SG. The Kings fill the much needed positions of SF, backup PG and C.
