Well i must have been doing something right your commenting on me. Obviously I have interested you to the point where you felt compelled to mention my name.
If Stern was only acting as the "true GM" of the Hornets, why do we have an email from Dan Gilbert throwing a b**** fit as well as multiple sources saying other owners did the same? Those owners blocked the trade by b****ing to Stern, that's what really happened. Not your fantasy nonsense of Stern being some kind of guru who stopped the trade. If that was the case, the trade would never have even been submitted to the league office. When has an owner of a team ever waited til after a trade was submitted to the league before saying no? You are full of crap, and I'm pretty sure you are just trolling because nobody is that stupid.
Maybe this was Stern's way to keep the Lakers from forming a new Super Friends. I wouldn't be stunned if Howard now winds up in Los Angeles. Dwight on the Lakers? OK with Stern. Dwight and CP3 both? NOT okay with Michael Jordan and Dan Gilbert (F***ing crybabies).
Has anyone checked and saw what Utah got for deron? If utah got 3 1st rd picks and a guy who had the most upside in the entire draft last year, why should the hornets accept 3 guys pushing 30 and 30m in salary?
Stern owes us if for nothing else calling our trade package garbage and lowering the value of our players and draft pick in future negotiations.
Very good point. Even though he didn't expressly say that, he made a value statement about players from different teams, which is damaging to us in future negotiations. Another good example for why he should have NEVER put himself into the position to be the one making the final decisions on the Hornets' behalf.
Dan Gilbert's email came after Stern had already vetoed the trade. The trade was vetoed because it was bad. Now they got a better trade. Stop crying.
Fortunately, Morey is not ready to quit (I think/hope), and therefore, this thread title is actually quite misleading.
Well the San Antonio Spurs tanking and getting a guy name Tim Duncan comes to mind first! Probably even Cleveland snagging Lebron in 03 (I could name a few more examples but who cares). I get what you are trying to say Meh. And you are right that those are very rare cases were a team obviously tanks and is rewarded a superstar for good merit. Look I am not suggesting tanking either but I do think we need to build through the draft. The only solution I can come up with is to do away with the NBA lottery. However I really can't see that ever happening.
Do you have a link showing that the email was sent to Stern AFTER he vetoed it? Because in the email he is explaining why it should be vetoed and was urging Stern to do so.
If morey is still claiming he can't do his job because of the owner or others powers, he should quit. I think its an excuse personally.
