Hilltop has degenerated into a caricature---a funhouse image of the BBS' collective vision of the far right.

It was fun while the ride lasted, but it's kinda getting obvious the guy is just here to try to piss off as many people as possible.

His only argument is something about mar1juana, and I am pretty damn sure the guy is the type who has never smoked. too angry, tbh.

Forcing other people pay for their loser kid's insurance is violent, immoral and sick.

And yes seeing Houston port workers defend their jobs and families from dumbass OWS hipsters would have been outstanding.

You mentioned that the mandates were unconstitutional. I showed you they weren't.

As I've said before, your thirst for violence has been noted.

This is beautiful. Kudos to Obama for this one. Nobody in their right mind could oppose this.

I think this is one of the major differences between Basso/Hightop, etc. and most of the left leaning folks on this site.

I can look at policies, whether they are left or right centric, and agree or disagree based on the idea, rather than the source.

Whereas, anything that comes from the left is automatically wrong, destroying this country, etc. in the eyes of Basso/Hiltop. While the same ideas, presented by conservatives is perfectly fine.

Its really hard to take them seriously with double standards like this.

Wrong my friend - I'd say this incarnation in the wheel of life is just as bitter, rather than even more so.... Remember the original zen-master-of-panic is all about "let-em-die!" style death trolling as well, as his "final" words showed us....

What is with this notion that the youth of today are "lazy"? I don't see it.

Educational attainment is at an all-time high in developed countries. Labour force participation has definitely dropped down, but something like the most devastating financial crisis in modern times may have contributed to that.

Where, then, is the concrete proof that youth are "spoiled"? The youth of today are going to graduate with massive burdens of student debt in order to service "pay-as-you-go" pension debts that rankle up by the minute---pension benefits youth today will not have the temerity to ask for. The previous generation wove the dream that "you get a good education, you don't have to work at McDonalds." Now it's all about "get a job, lazy hipsters"---in an economic climate where 8.6% unemployment is the norm, not to mention underemployment rates near 16-18%.

Yes, kids are going to college at record levels... the real question is why? Many kids believe that simply going to college means they deserve and will be given a good job... it does not work like that.... did I say it was the fault of young people? No, their parents coddled them, the government coddled them... so now we are left with a collection of soft, sensitive adults that are not equipped to compete, that are not ambitious, that feel entitled, that still rely on their parents and government....

It is a joke that a 26 year old ADULT is still covered by their parents insurance, and it is just another example of how this country is full of people that believe their children are special, unique snowflakes... well, now these kids are adults, and look at the mess.... some will swim, but many will sink.

As for college debt, it is out of control... perhaps young people should ask why the cost of college has blown up.

This is the price to pay for a society that demands more and more skills investment, and keeps on reaping more and more costs for an investment that pays out less and less.

Couple that with retrenching state support (thanks largely to exploding pension costs) and increasing university costs (thanks largely to generous pensions once again, and recruitment of academics to staff cash cow universities), and the increased demand for education (since to do anything noteworthy these days pretty much requires a Masters or a PHD), and no wonder university costs are going up.

I'm not saying the current generation of youth are blameless, but the rat race these days has devolved into one to grab the best degree by the time you're 30, and not the best job, since those jobs can't even be offered anymore.

You figure if you went for your masters, you'd be about 25 when you were ready for the workforce, that's assuming you can find a job straight out of school.

I think 26 is a reasonable age, it's not like it was 40, 50 years ago where you could find a job with a high school diploma and have a mortgage and family by 30.

I have a doctorate... and was not covered by my parents medical insurance, because I was an adult. I was working at the same time I completed my schooling.

If you want to get a doctorate degree, by all means persue it, but understand that is not a promise of a good employment, nor should the rest of society pay the price.

I did not have a mortgage, family, etc by 30.... but many people do... and that is irrelevant, you can live in your parents basement for all I care, but do not expect me to be happy footing the bill.

I graduated with my Bachelor's when I was 20. I had my own house at 21. Today I'm 25, caring for my family of four. Most of my friends still don't have real jobs, but not because they can't find one. They are irresponsible. My own wife is lazy and irresponsible.

I can understand the law, but that doesn't mean that people from my generation aren't latching onto their parents for far too long. Unless you have a pre-existing condition, getting private insurance for a 23-26 old is dirt cheap. If they are students, their schools most likely offer health insurance and health clinic that are far cheaper than most of us have access to.
