K+Mart for Asik +Charlotte's pick + Bulls First Rounder 2012

Rip helps them but he's nowhere near K-Mart at this point in his career. With Rose and K-Mart they would have their back court set for the foreseeable future.

Bulls are about to get Richard Hamilton. They weren't willing to give up their young Center with decent potential for a SG a year ago... they definitely aren't going to be willing to do it now.

Those discussion were over Courtney Lee.. Not a guy who averages 24PPG. On top of that the rumor is the Rockets were asking for Charlotte's Pick + Asik for C.Lee.

Rip hasn't accepted the deal yet. It's only a 2yr deal.

If Asik takes the 1yr qualifying offer he'll be an unrestricted free agent and not bound by the Gilbert Arenas rule where he can't sign for more than the MLE.

Knowing what Kwame and DeAndre got this free agency. The QO must be an option he will strongly consider.

How you perceive it doesn't matter.

It's about the Bulls being in the worst position if he opts to take the QO next year. He'll become unrestricted in the FA that follows.

Usually teams bet on players to choose security but this FA gives Asik real incentive not to.

We are being stonewalled by the league right now. Might as well build through the draft. Other GMs have Morey figured out.
