Unless he's working on being in the Mr. Olympia contest there is not a chance he's a 3.5%

Legit post, I was thinking the same thing. You can deduce that the competition at the collegic level is not on par as the NBA. The Big East conference made Thabeet look like Shaq. The NBA, not so much. I hope he picks up his focus and concentration this season otherwise he'll be out of a job.

Sports teams and media constantly lie about body fat and how many pounds of muscle players put on every year. 3.5% body fat is bodybuilding competition level which helps show major muscle definition and vascularity.

Well if they lied, it must not be that far off from 3.5.

Look up the draft measurements, many guys are between 3.5 and 6.

If they are using calipers, and they probably are, there's room for error, probably around +3%. So it's not so much that they lie, although rounding down is probably common, but the measurements aren't accurate unless they use DXA scan.

It's really unhealthy to be at even 4% body fat. During competitions the motto, "The worse you feel, the better you will place" is true. 9% body fat is still crazy to have and play a demanding sport like basketball.

Well it's hard to run while he has that corn cob up his ass.

Anyways this season, this will be a fun eat crow topic. I'm on the side I think Thabust will succeed. But we need to make terms over what is success for him. if he finish 10 boards 1.5 blocks a game? I don't have any expectations for offense ;)

Anyways who's willing to put themselves in ink as Thabeeters. I know DD is on my side.

I got your back, I want him to succeed, have low expecations, but hopefully the Rockets are sending him to extra big man's camp....he needs extra reps.

I like how you were ragging on Montiejunas for being slow when he dunked on some guy's face and scored the game winner on this year's 5th pick.

Practice is not game competition, it will be more interesting to see how he does in the Spurs game Saturday night.

If the Big Show was on our team, people would likely complain that he's way too old at age 39 and not very good at playing basketball.

I'm with you. I think 6-8pts, 8+rbds, 2+blks would do. He doesn't have to avg. double anything this season to help the team compete. It would definitely help if he could. As long as he is doing other things like altering shots in between.

Could it be the difference between running next to kids in college verses running next to grown men in the NBA?
