i think if we get in on this it would be to get Lopez... which if we over pay I can see magic giving him to us.

I dont see any other reason...Magic... may want our young talent and draft picks. They need help every where and would want someone to take on some of their bigger contracts.

You think an offer of Hill or Patterson and Lee or T will and and flynn or dragic plus picks would let us snake Lopez away in the deal?

I mean specially if we sign Reggie Williams... we would still have

    Lowry
    Martin
    Williams
    Scola
    Lopez

I mean... with our depth I think we can afford it and I think that team looks as legit as they come...and just to make sure we can always then sign Samuel Dalembert to a 1 year contract

In most advanced scenario discussed, Blazers swingman Gerald Wallace would join Nets center Brook Lopez as principal pieces Magic would get

I wonder what Portland would get out of this. They gave up two firsts to get Wallace last year.

Honestly...the nets team sucks...they only player you would even take from that team is brooke lopez...

How can they pull this off? They cant even have many draft picks left.

Id imagine we could get in on this and offer more than brookes value to have him land here. Problem is there is no center for Magic.

I still the lakers are dumb for not giving bynum to magic and Gasol to us.

We can add the pieces to go with bynum to move howard...and hook the lakers up with a piece for now.

Cap relief to rebuild and resign Batum would be my guess.

Wallace makes $11 million next year and Batum is a RFA.

I guess I wish we were in a position to get wallace...but unless we get a center its pointless..

itd be more wise to move martin or scola for draft picks and cap space then to try and acquire another wing player...even if hed be the best SF we could prob get.

"It's believed that a deal for Howard will ultimately force the Nets to not only release forward Travis Outlaw through the amnesty clause in the league's new collective bargaining agreement but also to renounce the rights to free-agent power forward Kris Humphries." - http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/sto...w-jersey-nets-serious-talks-get-dwight-howard

interesting...idea if we can move back in on the CP3 and Pau trade...by moving scola and martin....we could pick up humphries in FA if nets get Howard.

    Lowry
    Lee
    Twill
    Humphries
    Gasol

    ... good?

Portland could extract as many as 3 draft picks for Gerald Wallace in possible multi-team Nets deal for Dwight Howard, league sources say.

That's how you rebuild. Trade your good players for picks. Portland is playing the tank game to perfection.

not to perfection, but the move has logic. The issue is that the picks are likely the type of picks the Rockets got from the Knicks. Could be great, could be so-so, could be late first rounders. And in the East, if the Nets are getting better with Dwight, and the Magic are still trying to be competitive (which I assume if they aren't taking the picks), then those seem like playoff bound teams

They're trying to create $10M of cap space to sign Jamal Crawford.

Sadly he has been extremely accurate on player signings and movement, mostly based on the fact that he has close relationships with a number of superstar players and their handlers.

I do not really like the man, he is annoying and not as clever as he believes, but he was correct on Bosh, Wade, LeBron, Chris Paul, Carmelo and Howard before anyone else broke the story... he also during the off season said LA wanted Odom off their team.

I am sure our lottery protected first would be on its way to portland...not exactly a mind-blowing asset...

the math is kind of fuzzy here if portland is getting as many as 3 picks and orlando is expecting picks as well, especially after NJ basically sold the farm for Deron.

anyone know how many picks are currently under NJ control?

well...I take all that back then. I figured they were unloading good talent for picks which would also help their own pick. I like Crawford and Landry but spending that kind of money on them right now (for that team) counters the whole tanking by the book.
