Although I like the concept, maybe send Washington some trash (instead of Beasley (either not both) Randolph), were taking a bad contract in lewis

I'd take a shot on Hollins. Offer Hill and a 2013 2nd rd pick for him.

    Luis Scola
    Kevin Martin

    for

    Evan Turner
    Elton Brand

Makes Philly into a 4-7 seed playoff team, and the Rockets get to Tank with Dignity, since Turner sucks, but can arguably be said to be "taking a flyer' on him.

    1) I had to include so much because of Rorschard's bloated contract
    2) His contract is expiring this year
    3) I don't know what MIN thinks of its current make up right now, so you are probably right. I do believe KMart is money when paired with KLove.

If were gonna tank with Turner, then better to not take on Elton and his horrendous contract

Starting to feel like a red headed step child. The Rockets must be considered no man's land by most of the players in the league. Why are we such a horrible destination? We want everybody, but nobody wants us. It has to have something to do with Morey and his "asset" philosophy.

It expires in 2 seasons. Enough time to grab some rookies, and then send him off as an expiring.

    Your plan may backfire.

While giving up Martin may hurt a little bit, Brand is better than Scola and we might even win more games as a result.

    Houston trades:

    Hasheem Thabeet
    Jordan Hill
    Terrence Williams

    Houston Receives:

    Emeka Okafor

Denver gets out from under Okafor's contract, plus receives three young, former lottery picks, all of whom they can decline the options on following the 2011-12 season.

    Houston Trades:

    Goran Dragic
    Luis Scola

    Houston Receives, via S&T:

    Nene

Denver's going to lose Nene anyway, George Karl loves to carry extra guards, and they have a need at PF. We free up enough money to give Nene the max.

    Rockets Roster:

    Lowry / Flynn
    Martin / Lee
    Budinger / Morris
    Nene / Patterson
Okafor / Some scrub off the street

    I'm trying here, hah...

I like this , more believable scenario although I'd like a 2nd rounder added to us, maybe Morey could make it a first. Who knows, value of bigs (Randolph) go hard.

    Three team trade involving Houston/Atlanta/LA

Rockets trade: Lowry, Scola, 2012 NY pick
    Rockets receive: Pau Gasol

Hawks trade: Josh Smith, Kirk Hinrich
    Hawks receive: Lowry, Scola

    Lakers trade: Pau Gasol
Lakers receive: Smith, Hinrich, 2012 pick

Rockets do it to get their elusive big fish. Losing Lowry sucks but we always knew this proposition would be pricey. Although, the silver lining is this deal involves us getting Gasol without surrendering Dragic (assuming you view Martin vs. Lowry as equal).

Atlanta does it to get the PG upgrade they've so desperately been seeking over the years. Jeff Teague has a lot of potential but Lowry is better right now, and along with Scola, puts them in a better position to win now.

LA does it to get younger and to get two new pieces (our 2012 NY pick, Hinrich's expiring contract) to add to their Bynum-based package for D12. All the while upgrading the PG spot in the process (despite Hinrich being injured -- supposedly will be back in January).
