Watched the first 20 minutes of Due Date and had to turn it off it was so boring and unoriginal/unfunny. Gee, I wonder if the writers have ever seen a movie called Planes Trains and Automobiles...

    1/10.

It was different, but I think it's the most visually stunning of the three. Oldboy is my favorite as far as just solid film with action, story, acting etc.

But Sympathy for Lady Vengeance was amazing in how the colors were used, and pictures were posed.

The picture of all the people with their weapons, and plastic protective wear on before they go after the bad guy while being lined up in a classical artistic pose was amazing. If it were a photo it would be museum worthy

    Hugo 9/10

Watched it this weekend with the wife. Surprised and enjoyed it a lot. Scorsese did a good job and I really liked his characters.

Conan (2011). 3/10. I liked the beginning with the kid version of Conan. Everything else was terrible. (nitpicking nerd: why did they make Conan so pretty? He should be scarred as hell and just plain rough - fail.)

Jungle Book II. Caught it by accident on TV with my daughter. -10,000. Utter blasphemy.

    Melancholia

    9/10

Beautiful, stunning film. Kirsten Dunst finally lives up to her potential. But warning, it put me in a depressed state for the next two days.

well, you didn't miss too much originality, and you missed a bit of ridiculous (lack of) plot, but you did miss some pretty funny scenes.

    I would give it a 6.

Well, the story was very good, but it was definitely old-fashioned. In other words, and without giving too much away, ultimately it was a movie about being in love with the magic of movies. Scorsese has not made a movie like this before, as far as I know, and he seems to have taken the opportunity to just let go and really have fun with both a 'family' film as well as trying to use the 3D in a way that really added to the overall experience.

So, in answer to your question, I would say, both. Ordinarily I never pay the premium to watch movies in 3D, but in this case I did, and I am glad I did, it was truly breath-taking. I am not sure how I would have felt about it if I had watched it in the regular number of D's ;)

The word I would use? 'Impeccable'.

We went to see My Week With Marilyn over the weekend and I loved it. Excellent acting and very entertaining. Based on a true story, as well. Go see it!

Oh come on man it wasn't that bad, there were a few funny parts i would say 5/10. PT&A is a much better movie though, i agree.

Watch American Psycho. That way you can join in the boards on going quoting of Patrick Bateman.

The Sitter with Jonah Hill- 5/10. Had a couple funny moments but really wasn't that good. Sam Rockwell was real funny in this though.

Watched a few superhero cartoons over the past couple of days. It's a shame that they make these movies only ~60 minutes.

Justice League: Crisis on Two Worlds - 7/10

Justice League: The New Frontier - 6/10

    Batman: Year One - 7/10

    All Star Superman - 4/10

They should make more Superman and Green Lantern ones. Batman's dark and depressing environment depresses me. Why don't Marvel make these cartoon movies too?

    double post...

The Ides of March - 7/10

That dude who started out from Remember The Titans has been in pretty good movies as of late. I think I'll have to start watching movies that he's in.

The Bang Bang Club - 9/10

Throughout the whole film I kept thinking "hey they should make a movie about the guy who killed himself out of depression from taking the picture of the poor girl with the vulture." And then right near the end I was like, ooooohh....

Chipwrecked - 4/10 for adults, 9/10 for kids.

Who knew that Lady Gaga and Katy Perry stole their best songs from Alvin and the Chipmunks?

    The Descendants- 5/10

Really disappointed. I just didn't find the story compelling or plausible at all and some of the acting (not Clooney) was pretty bad.

I can't believe what good reviews this movie has been getting.

The Help - 8 / 10. They did a decent job converting a great book into a good movie.
