New Orleans and Denver just got gutted. Even if they make awesome trades and acquisitions, we will be able to rival them. Utah and Denver are just starting fresh, though they still have some good players. Still, they present no foreseeable threat. Phonenix and New Orleans are on the decline and they will stay on course. Scaramento, Warriors, Clippers, Minnesota are on the rise but should not be able to touch us. If we get Dalembert we can rival the likes of Portland, Memphis, Spurs. The only ones we cant touch are, Lakers, Dallas, OKC
Teams better than us in the west ... Well its all hear say ... conditioning and health and how things go but these are the only teams in the west that are going to be better "for sure" -- the rest are no guarantees ... its the nba and well its a 66 game season ... 1) dallas (best in the west for now) 2) san antonio 3) OKC 4) Lakers (but losing Odom is going to hurt more than you think) --------------------------------------------------------------- nobody else is definitively better but you can say 5) Memphis (they kept their roster ... but i dont think randolph will repeat this season and they have injury issues) 6) Clippers (they loaded that roster ... will likely make noise ... but griffin is the most injury prone player in the league and if he goes bye bye ) 7) Sacremento (got talent but young ... health issues and unpredictable ... chemistry problems.. but could be a playoff team) --------------------------------------------------------------- We are better than these teams but i dont trust mchale much .... so we can easily be worse.... 8) Minnisota (alot of talent with a major coaching upgrade) 9) Goldenstate (again alot of talent ... too many question marks but Jackson will stabalize this team and they will get a someone in a trade) 10) Utah (sloan still has some talent to put together a good run) 11) OKC (depends on what they land in return for Paul) ---------------------------------------------------------------- No chance in hell 12) Phoenix (after nash -- you got ummm hill and what warrick? ) 13) Denver (could be great but well no one is around -- all roster overseas and now losing nene) 14) No Roy (Felton and aldridge ... camby ... batum and wallace ... can any of them actually stay healthy ... BIG IFS and well again NO ROY) ... ---------------------------------------------------------------- In conclusion we actually have a legit chance at the playoffs ... just like last season ... but in reality No chance of competing once we get there ... so ill be a fan and watch my Rox hopefully play hard and win some well played games and hope for a miracle from our GM (whom i dont trust much as of late)
As constituted, the Rockets don't bode well. No size, no height, no true All-Star player, the best players are second-tier talents and they have a rookie coach to boot. I see the Rockets as a 36-38 win team. McHale is coaching a group of players who aren't really "his." He's got an offensive-minded batch that's allergic to defense and that goes against his principles.
"we suck" "i dare you to name two teams that will be better than us" Real fans know how to fockass on these little details
alright "mcgradypwns", we'll just have to see. personally, I have faith in the guys we have now, and I believe they'll make a great deal of progress this year. I also think we'll definitely pick up a center to fill the hayes void either via free agency or the battier TPE. We have a very well balanced team, and our depth and youth plays to our advantage this season especially. heck even vegas has us above .500.
I'll be surprised, if we don't make the playoffs because the 3 playoff teams from last year, Nuggets, Blazers and Hornets are going through major disruptions to their rosters. We have the pieces, only missing the man in the middle. If we do, Rockets are going places.
It's great that you are on the pro-tankers, we need more support. However, your point was unclear with naming 2 better teams, since we believe there are many more than 2 teams that are better than the Rockets.
I think this team has a chance to get into the playoffs...it's a scrappy team with a lot of dogs(in a good way) I think we will suprise a lot of people.
15-8 After trade last year, if they play at that pace over the entire year - 43-23, probably top 4 in the WC. With all the other teams having such turnover, the Rox could shock the world. DD
